I've always wanted to try making silhouettes and realistic backgrounds; I was, let's say, curious. I've also always wanted to make a Magna Carta wall, too. Even though I never played Magna Carta, I loved its artwork (a lot). These two images are one of my favorites (the silhouettes).
What inspired me to make the backround was the sky. I love skies. Whenever I look at them - especially the clouds - there is always that one big, great awe of imagination that burts right inside my head. Looking at those puffy clouds make me wanna paint stuff ^^. But I love dark backgounds, too. So I decided to make a sunset background (yeah, I know it doesn't look much like a sunset, but it's already fine with me. It's my first time).
I used 3 stock photos. Kinda combined the three stock photos into one, which resulted to a new background. I used the merged stock photos as guide. I redrew the whole sky, with the help of some cloud brushes and a little smudging. Took me 10 hours, I think. Redrawing the sky was the hardest thing I did for the wall. I had to make a lot of considerations, from colors, shape, looks, blah, blah, blah...
And just because I couldn't resist, I added some grunge (I love grunge so much. Sometimes i wonder when I will get over it.). But it turned out to be good in my opinion.

I always like the idea of using silhouette but I have never used it myself nor see others using it cos' it kinda defeats the purpose of making an artpiece of something you like.
But you changed my opinion. This is one of the unique wallpaper I've seen. Very interesting idea and I'm sure I'll remember this for a long time.
Nice work on the background too. -

An interesting sunset. It's not the tyical sunset one normallys sees, but I like it nonetheless. It has a lovely darkness to it. I love silhouettes.
