My second doujin of the uber-villain of Samurai Deeper Kyo, Sendai Aka-no-Ou (I'm not posting the first one, just in case it violates the new regs on "Mature Content").
If you don't know anything about Aka-chan here, just take this doujin at face value: sylva thinks bishies who wear glasses and are intellectual are sexy, even if they happen to be villain types. (*^.^*)
For those of you who know about Aka, or haven't lost interest in my rant yet:
I wanted to draw Aka as I see him - evil, charismatic, and intellectual. Hence the grin and the "charming"
touch of the glasses to his teeth, and the setting (Aka's private library)
Technical Details: (for the hard-core people with attention-spans)
- I'm in love with the pentool, since it makes such clean lines! I'm finding that I can color the lines to blend them in with the rest of the piece, which makes me happy. Go me!
- All the stuff on the table (i.e., lantern, scroll, book) and the screen in the background were done on seperate image files, and then placed in the picture on independent layers (normally, I just draw the people in my doujin, then CG the setting around them). The screen is actually a hand-made pattern I made with the pen tool.
- Have I mentioned that I love the pentool yet? That's how I did the swept-back gold curtain around the column *is inordinately pleased with that curtain* i vectored the shade, and used an airbrush to create the folds.

Yet another great doujin sylvacoer! I have yet to meet Aka-no-Ou in the manga, but he looks pretty cool the way you drew him! Great job on the colors and the shading! :D

A very detailed piece. I like pentool but I get so lazy after awhile. I wished I had your stamina. You know I always think highly of your bgs and this is exceptionally well done. I like the glasses. They really look real. Your cging was really well done and the coloring match the lighting. Really nice work~

Hi sylvacoer! Sorry I haven't been around to comment on your works. I see you've improved a lot. You cged the whole background? It looks amazing. Your drawing style seems to have improved too!
On a side note...you have xanga too? I just visited your xanga and the layout is awsome!
