Hello everyone! *waves and embraces*
Please ~read~ description:

A last fire will rise behind those eyes
Black house will rock, blind boys don't lie
Immortal fear, that voice so clear
Through broken walls, that scream I hear

Cry, little sister - Thou shall not fall
Come to your brother - Thou shall not die
Unchain me, sister - Thou shall not fear
Love is with your brother - Thou shall not kill

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my ~First~ attempt at doing a dark wall.
My ~First~ attempt at doing some abstractness.
And also my ~First~ attempt at doing some grunge.
The wall still has a scenic style to it, but I incorporated various other styles and so it is a Mutt Wall :D
LOL

About the Wall:

Hard Part
---Pretty much the backdrop which I got from a Trinity Blood Scan (Here at MT--here is a link to see it: http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/4753/scan9lw.jpg). Fell in love with the backdrop of the scan. So I had to work with the part of it that I could use and yet make it fit the size of the wall. I had to redraw and stamp out and fix a lot of the backdrop to achieve those effects. I believe it came out well convincing.

Fun Part
---Since the Trinity Blood Scan offered some cool paint daubs here and there, I decided to make it more. It just looked cool! And so I had fun adding spurts of paint and started to do some grunge effects too. And of course some blood :) The Chains were brushes that I made. Finally, a grainy texture was applied to entire wall.

I like to Thank a lot people here at MT for helping and inspiring me:
---Thank you Idril for your awesome dark walls
---Thank you Akira-san for helping me with the artist of the scan who we just both adore ^_^
---Thank you Oracleangel for your advice and teaching me to go that extra distance
---Thank you Fukushuusha for the style of the grainy texture which I always fell in love with with your walls
---And finally Thank you to all of my friends and others here at MT for your gracious support and encouragement :)

Please Enjoy and I, as always, appreciate your comments, opinions, and suggestions. I need to improve on doing these new styles *waves*

.:EDIT:. I couldn't stand the hair extraction and so I did fix up the extraction there.
.:NOTE:. The poem above is ~not~ my work. It is from a song and lyrics by Gerad McMann (Lost Boys Soundtrack) Great movie!

Lovely wall Emma! I love the mood you've captured, and the mixing of different styles has definitely added to that mood. The color is nice, bright yet still dark... your chain brushes add some nice depth to the image as well. Overall, great job dear! :)

  7. AiWoKote1714 Feb 27, 2006

Emma, this one is gorgeous! This is aeasily my favorite shade of blue. But what's neat about this is that you managed to use it as a dark and dreary environment. Absolutely superb. Keep up the great work as always!

    Omg, it's a very late comment -_-
But here I am to tell everything I've got to say! XD
    It's very good ^_^
I recently made my first attempt on the ''darkie style'' ^_^'
As you saw, I got no clue about it -_-
But yours is wonderful! Dark blue can be deep, ne? ^_^
The blending of the scan and bg is very well-done and the background really gives me a sense of ''deepness'', in both conotative and denotative ways ^_^
The chains give the final thouch ^.~
    Very good, as always ^_^
Will you also try different styles from now on? It's fun ^_^
    +Fav, of course ;)

this is a really awsome wall allthough im not a real big fan of ones with grain over the entire thing, that was kinda of a downer. (you dont think you can post another without the grain do ya?) i think theres alot of other ways to get that grunge style since that is also one of my favorite styles of wp. overall, the picture is really awsome and the dark colors work really well. its a fav.

  15. mizu-megami Mar 03, 2006

gomen ne for this uberlate coment>.<
through i'm not quite a big fan of this kind of dark walls. nah any way the hallway seems a little bit strange, some pillars are a bit bowed to the right while the door''thingy'' bows more of to the left...
nah any way. throguh i don't really like the scene you did a really good job on it^_~

  17. SealedSword Mar 19, 2006

    Hey Emma
Great wallpaper, love the blue colour XD
Has a depressing look to it, and the background goes really well with the girl
It's really good, even if it is your first attempt on a dark looking wall =P
Keep up the good work, I'll be around every now and then to check out your future work = )

Did you write that description? The poem, I mean? It was cool...I was just wondering what the inspiration behind it was, or if there was any at all. I love poetry, so yeah...there was just something about it that definitely caught my attention.

For so many of your first attempts, I think the wall is remarkably good. When I first saw it (which was awhile ago, I just wasn't able to sit down and write comments on it 'til now), I was thinking that it was darker than your normal stuff, then I read the description and it all kinda clicked, lol.

I'm not sure how much of the character scan you did, other than the blood and chains since you mentioned them, but she really fits in. The bleeding and bandages at her neck and at the chains on her wrist were well done, and her facial expression...well, that just kind of says it all, I suppose.

The abstractness of the background was totally cool! The chains, faint archways and marblish look to the columns...wow. Of course, it helps that the colors used are my favorites (dark blues, black, and a blend of other blues). You used to perfect color scheme to fit in with the scan and the intent of the wall itself (the dark part, I mean).

Anyway, I like this a lot...even though I'm normally not a fan of darker-themed things in general. You did a good job, and I wish I had some pointers or something that'd help you, but all I can do is admire and comment on certain things...I guess that'll have to suffice. Nicely done, miss Emma ^_^

  21. bbls May 21, 2006

omigosh, emma! i saw this scan awhile ago and fell in luv with it, so i was hoping that someone would make an awesome wallie out of it...and you did it! i think you did a wonderful job in experimenting and using different styles that are new to you! i luv the fact that you're so open and willing to try new things because your feelings always come through in your wallies! the darkness and grunginess of this wallie isn't your typical style, but i luved how you worked those elements into this. the backdrop definitely adds eeriness and loneliness to the atmosphere...and i also luv the chains you added...very nice attention to detail, as usual. *bows before emma*
