I know that it is not winter... but the heat here in the tropical region is sweltering (most of the time). So I thought that I could use a 'cool' wallpaper.
(er..hem... I don't think anyone wants to know this) So on to the whole process of creating this wall...
I was thinking of making a different background but after much debate, I decided to recreate the original because it suited the character's colours so well.
The background was mostly airbrushed. Only the wood texture was created using the gradient tool.
Did not want the background to clash with the forground so I lightened the snowy part significantly to bring attention to the character.
I went into lots of problems while making this wall... Can not even begin to count how many times my computer crashed. Not only that, I was being ambitious and made the wall in 4800x3600 pixels. Guess what happened? Yes. Half the time I was looking at loading bars while the computer processed.
I feel that shrinking the image by so much compromised the quality abit. So please bare with stuff like the thick outlines and some jagged edges...
Oh well... Its done now. After lots of heartache, I must add. So... MWAHAHAHA...

Ok. I figured out why the image was so jagged... The huge sized one was to sharp. So I added a slight blur then shrank
the wall to 1600x1200 and now its ok. So, yep. Here is the modified one.

ah very cool. such a shame that the lines are so jagged. but it still deserves a fav.
the snowy stuff just looks soooooo good ~_~ i want to marry it have a whole family of little backgrounds. it shows how much work you've chucked into it. i seriously love it.
only thing is, maybe the deck is a bit too detailed and clean. i'm talking more about the lines than anything else. still. <3<3<3<3

Great work with the extraction. The colours are shinig great, too. :D
I like the landscape in the background a lot. Only think to criticise a bit are the wooden parts. I've never seen such straight lines with wooden things ;) -
I really like the highlights and shadows because it just gives the whole picture so much depth. You did a nice job on not letting the background take away the attention from Shana, nice work. The perspective is great, however I'm trying to figure what's beyond the garden. Is that a wall or something?

Oooh, lovely job on the scenic background... :) The perspective for the lake (?) in the background seems a little off... or the horizon line looks a tad high to me... but otherwise... :D Impressive work :3
