When i first saw the scan on AP ... i had to make a wallpaper on it ^^
i tried first to show the character with butterflies . Then decided ( after divStar suggestion ) to show her when she
remembered her lover ...
The scan took me a rather long time to clean up ... i used lens blur and smart blur with Clone Stamp Tool ... The scan
wasn't complete ( her kimono was cut in the bottom right ) so I create the missing part (a part of the sleeve ) .
For the background it changed very often ( cf post : Basilisk wallpaper in session zero ) ... i finally found a
landscape view which fit whith the wall mood ... i modify it and add elements ( rain, raindrops, fog ) by brushing and a
tree . I wanted the background to reflect her minds and her sadness .
I took me several days to create it and about 25 layers

Sadly I was only able to see 2 episodes of Basilisk before it got licensed... :( So, I have no clue who this character is. But I must say that you did a good job with the background reflecting her mood. I also like the image of her in general. The only thing I can see is that the direction of some of the butterflies makes them seem like they're dying... (I'm not sure if that's what you meant?) But it seems kind of odd... Well, great job overall! Keep it up! :D

coulda done without butterflies, but they're a nice touch, even though some look like they're dying, well nonetheless, good job on the wallpaper, =] -
