Get Your Shine On! - KOI89'S Greatest Hits.
If you guys have seen music videos such as Nickelback's Far Away, Michelle Branch's Breathe or even Green Day's Boulevard of BrokenDreams, then you'd probably famliarize
yourself with the whole light render thing that goin' on in this piece of art.
Ok, if you still aren't getting the picture, think rock concerts and the huge lights hovering the whole room. Still
not getting the hint? Ok, imagine a room with disco lights in it, only this
time, it's a lounge and not some crappy bar, it's sleek and stylish and it's
technically a party.
the room is technically breaking apart
revealing my old wallpapers as the wall
slowly and gradually collapses. In the end, rays of light seeps through
it.
Hope with that enough clues, you're actually getting what this wallpaper is all about. lol. Not that it has much but, whatever.
I originally had no direction as to what I wanted to do with this wallpaper. All I know is, I liked the scan and it reminded me of Mariah Carrey doing her famous hand gestures in most of her music videos. I was also thinking "party" when I saw this scan. the first idea I had in mind was to go for the whole beach theme but heck, it's to "trendy" and well, I want my wallpapers to deviate from the norm. I decided to re-cg some parts of the scan, adding a bit here and subtracting a bit there. Why? Simply because I don't want this wallpaper to be too revealing. I wanted it to be sensual and not trashy. Still decent for that matter. I also had to recolor parts of it and retrace some fine lines which I originally had a hard time extracting. And so I ended up with this.
the wallpaper is all about liberating yourself. Being able to party at your own
right. Afterall, we're teenagers and we should party! xD however, at the
sametime, let's not push it. the problem with most parties I'm ever invited into
is the whole liquor aspect of it. Why can't we just have good clean fun. Beers and such are not necessary for a party. the make you sick.
And the thing about this wallpaper is that I wanted it to convey fun without the
unnecessary vices. I want to encourage people to breakout from soceity and
media's trends and misadvices and go for what would actually benefit them more.
Especially in the long run.
Let's just say that this wallpaper is still Christian-based. I just wanted it to
be different from average Christian walls.
Speaking of liberation, I wanted to express in this wallpaper that everyone has
a voice. A stand, an own opinion and no one can take that away from you. People
around you would always be talking behind your back, they tend to be judgemental
despite the fact that they don't even know you. the thing is, everyone talks
about everyone and we cannot stop that.. ugh, bickering highschool drama
>< HOWEVER, we have the choice of
whether we are affected by it or not. Much like how I want to express in this
wallpaper, break free from that and just let the light come in. Because in the
end, it is your prerogative. Don't let
other people push you down.
Life's a party. Live it.
Aside from series of wallpapers I had made in the past, this piece also features lyrics from My Prerogative originally sung by a band which is later renditioned by Ms. Spears. As for the title of the wallpaper, I kinda got inspired from one of Jesse McCartney's songs.
Just trying to make something new from something that is old. A "recycled" wall. lol.
~~~
Doin', what you're doin' up against the wall
You know you wanna dance or you wouldn't be here at all
Everybody's got it goin' on and on and on...
It's on tonight, yeah!
Show a little...
You know i like it when you...
Everybody wanna...
Everybody here is feelin' the vibe
Eyes glued, hands up
'Cause you're doin' it right
Everybody get the chance to shine
Baby come on,
Don't be shy now
Show a little...
You know I like it when you...
Everybody wanna...
~~~
try looking at this wallpaper while listening to some upbeat pop music or to
some latin song.
Let it move you and feel the groove. xD

I have a feeling I know where the title comes from...sounds like get your shoe shine on by jesse mccartney

the designs are great..a bit overshadowing the scan but the concept of it bringing out the theme is nicely done^^
Cute ^_^ Fav from me sweetie ^_^
Ah yes, if i have to comlain then just the butterflies ^_^ I think they are too sharp for a bit blurry scan ^_^
Oh yes, other than that, Well done ^_^
Fitting title for the piece ( ^ ^ )b
The blurred scans of the cutouts in the right side to detrack from it though : /
(Especially the right-most one, since it's blurred & whiter/brighter than the rest. Maybe match its brightness with the rest of the other cutouts)
NICE!
