You probably got the image from me (I posted this scan on both Animepaper and Minitokyo, but maybe you didn't if you grabbed it from somewhere else) However, the wallpaper has good intentions but you could've worked to pull it off better.
For instance, the cherry blossoms you added don't mesh with the original scan well at all, they look like they are from two different pictures, which from your description they are. The edges on the text you extraction looks okay, but it could be better... maybe you should have thought about vectoring the title, then it would have a more clean cut look to it.
Overall the wallpaper isn't very good because you just feathered the scan, still there are still lines though, so even if its not low effort enough there are those lines. You had the right idea, you just need to work on pulling it off better. Maybe you should consider the sandbox.
