JERUSALEM
the Holy Land.. the Land of Jesus Christ.
JERUSALEM
*plays ancient Armaic music (like the ones in Passion of the Christ)*
this wallpaper will be given two descriptions. One would be the technical parts of it, and the other would be the personal. Because this wall means so much more to me than simply being another wall.
And it wouldn't be complete without the other. this wallpaper is actually a follow up from my previous wallpaper, Until then, and there will still be
a third one, well you can say that the 3 wallpapers are a Chronological Series.. hehe, reminds me of Narnia.
Until then.Jerusalem. and the third would
be, ok, just the title Face of Innocence.
all three wallpapers are actually interconnected one way or another, the third is yet to be seen (as I am still to make it).. and all three are very dear to me. hehe :) I am also donating these walls to the very special people I get to meet and work with in Church. As I owe them that much, that much love.
Ok, so let me get started.
Wall Status
the wallpaper is actually made of 100+ layers. And probably was the longest wallpaper I've made so far. Layouting and
everything took about a whole week to finish. And finally, I finish it today. At least 5 to 6 days. But of course, that
isn't continuous. *just for the record, the 2nd placer of the longest wall to make would be my wall, Mahal Kita which took me about 4 days to make.
this is also the hardest scan to extract as it is soooo intricate. argh, and I really had to be patient with it because,
it took me one whole day to simply extract the scan, and I have a feeling it's not completely cleaned yet. :p but oh
well, it's the best I can do. the mountains were completely made from scratch while the clouds and moon are a
combination of stock photos and a few filter tricks of my own. the hardest part to make in this wall was it's color. I wanted it to be blue. As I want it to show a cold desert night. However, the
scan was a big problem since it was pink and coordinates well with warm colors. So I tried my best in recoloring parts
of the scan so it becomes cooler, but I didn't want to make it dark either as I want emphasis on the angel's inner
beauty showing and glowing from inside out. the red meteor was also a problem since it will mostly contrast with the
blue atmosphere, but I wanted it to indicate dynamics and not a cold meteor shower. Something, not necessarily
destructive, but rather, powerful. And so I ended up with this shade.
Personal Reason
I entitled this as Jerusalem, the Holy City. I am actually submitting this wall as a template for my Church so (1) is
because of my Christian influence. Infact, all my works have them. I just have to. It's my nature to just be and I
guess, that is what makes my wall different. Second is because this wall, just like some of my previous ones, is based
in one of the books of the Bible. the Revelations. If you read your Bible, you'll
know about the coming of the New Jerusalem, wherein it also signifies the armaggedon but at the same time, the beginning
of a new life.
And with that idea in mind, I'd remember myself as how I was before, and how I am now. weird how you can be a different person at one time, and change the next. even weirder would be your experiences, as how different they can seem. this wallpaper is all about change. I mean, when was the last time you tried to look at yourself and reflect within. Seeing how nice things change.
But at the same, how painful it is to let people go... especially the ones you have grown into so much. And I'm currently experiencing that, I mean, people just tend to walk in and out of your life just like that angel who would be sitting on that pilar, and at some point, will be gone.
But as I try to tackle this real life situation, I learn the value of acceptance. It's not something you'd really get over with,.. it's just something you have to deal with, I guess.
All I want this Christmas is well, spending time with my friends just before we go to college. It's like, I am excited
for my Christmas Vacation to end because I want to see them. I really do and I guess I'm sharing it here because I want
to show it somehow, but with them, I guess it's not that obvious. All I know is, if I just continue believing that
maybe, one day, I'll just get to see them again...
but at the same time, I don't. As the days continue to roll by, I know that their leaving would be nearing as
well..
and .. I don't want to be alone anymore. ahh.. shucks..
</ end of personal stuff> Anyway *puts on a smile* I'll end it there. I'll be going to church tomorrow since, I really would want to spend time with them for as long as I can. And maybe, by then, I'll be inspired to do better for the next wall.
Maybe by then, I would just simply be able to be with them for the last time.
You can say this wall is still dedicated to my friends.. :) hehe. I guess it's something that's just not going to fade. hehe.
:)

nice wallpaper, the background effects are very pretty.
keep it up -
Nice idea ^_^ I just think the mountain can be more wonderful with some texture ^_^
Still very good, you got a fav, sweetie! -
This is certainly a very nice wallpaper that you have put a good amount of thought and work into. My only complaint is that the subject scan seems to be of lower quality than the rest of the wallpaper, and its extraction could be better done as well. Otherwise, it is definitely a very solid wallpaper.
Keep up the good work!
-
wow this is amazing x_x
i agree about da extracting. yep just a liiiiittle bit.. then it's perfect <3
u're great x_x -
Even though I'm not religious at all, and won't give it a meaning like yours, the wallpaper is lovely in every sense. The original scan is good, but the way you worked with the angel is simply perfect. The background is the best addition for the angel, colors are blended amazingly for one of the best, if not already, angelical wallpapers I have ever seen, anywhere.
Congratulations for your excellent work. Outstanding in every way. Proudly added to my favs.
-
Beautiful background and nice characters. *add it to favs*

the girl reminds me of sakura from tsubasa chronicles (the orange hair one). your bg, i think, is very outstanding. but the scan is abit complicated. very nice work there gj =)
-

I must say this is a meaningful and great wallpaper, one of the better ones I must say that caught my attention.
But consider how this is Holy Land related, I must say, you should have perhaps used a lesser revealing character to mark your wallpaper.
Why? you mentioned a whole lot of the Holy Land, I am sure there would have been lesser revealing characters for such a magnificient background, probably only me, I think it could have been better if you would have used one lesser revealed one.
As for the background, the intense detail refreshes the whole planetry trendwhore ideals, it is one of the best in fact, it redefines my view for trendwhore wallpapers IMO. -
good wallie, but yeah... i agree with some ppl that says that the character is too revealing... but, it's still good nontheless... FAVS!
-
wow, this is really good. very epic.
-
