I made this when I was in vacations.
I dont know if it's your taste, I battled alot with myself about the colors I used.
Oh yes, this is my first submition for the "Bitmap Fun" series i have made (excluding my current userpage skin). Some members already know my "Vector Fun" series which I suspended a year ago because my lack of time (vectoring takes some time...it's not just "press convert bitmap to vector", it's an art...but dont worry, i'll continue both Bitmap & Vector Fun series...a little slow....but it wont end ^^

well it does use a lot of negative space hence it could be called simplistic. But I'd say the design needs a bit more of thoughts. the swirls look alright but they arn't quite original, the scan looks like it needs work, I can see grain and scanlines ( and that's bad :P) The colorscheme is aslo a bit old, brown/orangeish and blue is hard to work with. I suggest taking a brighter color for the bg gradient.
