I've been wanting to make this wallpaper for a while, and since I took a bunch
of cloud photos over vacation so I could use them as stocks, now seemed as good
a time as any.
The inspiration came from a magazine article about family vacations, and instead
of using a regular photo/caption, they used a type of photo-mosaic in order to
create large, composite panoramic pictures. I thought it was a cool idea and
wanted to replicate it.
Of course, Kino. And Riku, my most favoritest character ever. Also, the off-skew
angle and the large open sky made it ideal for the style I wanted, which was to
place the characters on top of the photomosaic of a sky. Thus, it's a sceneric
that's not so generic.
Scan came from the 2nd visual novel (smudged), clouds were composited from
photos I took, and the photos themselves were arranged in Photoshop, which has
really crappy shape support (I had to do them at 2x size, then shrink in, to
reduce the jaggy edges. It's still not enough, but after individually putting
together 32 "snaps" I got pissed off at PS and gave up.)
The title is obvious, a picture perfect day.

That is beautiful!
Such a pretty and smooth wallpaper! It's very gentle and simple! ^^
I really like your idea with this. I do think that the character is a bit too blurred, my eyes kept wanting to make his face be in focus though the effect works for the dog.
I
like how the clouds are broken up in individual frames and that they fade into
light/white as you move towards the bottom, though you kind of loose the dog
because of it. Maybe a simple shadow to seperate them. I like how the characters
are angled, and how the pictures squares are randomized. (I always thinks that's
a good job done when it looks like someone just threw things on the floor!)
Overall it's a very unique wall. Thanks for sharing!
I was wondering why it had a painterish look to it.... love the 32 snap photos which make the bg light up and the expansion of the wall space is beautiful.... Lovely job as always TaMA! :p
I think the idea is great, the clouds look good and the text emplacement is original
And I
suggest retracing the main outlines and face lines of the character when you
smudge that much
Allthough when I look at the wall, I feel as though its missing a bit of contrast in the colors, maybe everything is a bit too soft
I like the clouds idea. And the perspective of the character. Looks quite original and creatively done. Simple-looking. And it gives out a faded feeling, and nice softish colors.
Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!
