I wanted a new wallpaper for work, except I have a dual(wide)screen setup and finding really wide images is not easy (my
current work wall is a panoramic photo my dad took from Mendocino, but it's getting boring.)
So after I bought the Kuchibashi ni Cherry single by Ego-Wrappin' (a fun and wacky Japanese Jazz band, whose music runs towards
"big band jazz" complete with peppy percussion and lots of shiny brass horns, although their latest album has
them experimenting with more rock stylings) and looking at the jacket artwork, the tri-folded cover formed a perfect
dual(wide)screen image. A simple, bold image of a peacock in the desert. Easy to trace, even as rusty as I am - 3.5
hours in Illustrator.
This wallpaper is dedicated to my good friend Chiriko for two reasons. 1) He introduced me to the band, plus he and I
co-run the English Ego-Wrappin' fansite, Psychoanalysis. 2) He lives in a city that uses the peacock as their symbol
(down to having peacocks on their street signs. He once remarked, "You know you live in a swanky city when you get
peacocks digging through your trash instead of raccoons" in reference to it.)
The original jacket art had speckled texture, but I got tired and didn't feel like speckling a 3840x1200
picture.
Because most people don't have nearly that wacky of a resolution, here are more traditional resolutions atPsychoanalysis. Plus, they're in PNG format.
You know, all the quality, a third the size? At least where clean vector-based images are concerned. Rocking.

Wow, this vector art is so realastic and mystical! Nice color choice and design! *adding to favs* Thank you for sharing this with us all!
that's huge, as always your vector work is great, the peacock looks awesome specially the tail.
it goes to my favorites.
niiiiiiiiiiceeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Very interesting design I have to say.
I'm not a fan of widescreen wallpapers but I like the content of this one.
I like the somewhat oriental feel in it and the vectored peacock is lovely. ^^
Although I didn't read your description (looks messy and I don't bother sometimes, gomen.) I did visit the
"Psycho" website you recommended and I find it very interesting. ^__^ Thanks for giving the link and also for
additional resolutions!
