I don't think I have actually sat down and made a proper wallpaper for over a year. Instead, I've gotten into the world of making Live Journal (100x100) icons and participating in iContests! I've missed making wallpapers - which is all I used to do - and showing them off and getting all the nice, constructive comments/criticism. So I decided that I would try and make a wallpaper that was similar to all those Live Journal icons that you see around the place these days. You know the ones with decorative boxes, repetitive images, swirly accents, tiny text etc. What you see before you it the result :D It wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but still, in my opinion, it turned out alright. The point of this wallpaper was to see if those elements could be translated into making a successful wallpaper. I'm not much of a wall-er anymore (more of an icon-er now ^_^') but I'd say it worked! :nya:
So on to the actuall wallpaper itself... :x
It features Sakura Kinomoto, who is the main character in Cardcaptor Sakura. The images are actually screen captures, which I took myself OX from episode 67 of the series. You know where Sakura is standing by the moon lake, looking up into the night sky at the Glow Card's glow (<- ~_~) The title came from Hilary Duff's song, What Dreams are Made of (I was listening to it while I was making the wallpaper :nya:) It consisted of exactly 50 layers (even though it doesn't seem like it) and took around 4 hours to make in Photoshop CS. The brushes that were used were from hybrid-genesis.net, ignite.nu and veredgf.fredfarm.com/vbrush/.

i do love it. i love the inspiration behind it the most. that was an awesome idea and it turned out really well. the feel is great and the whole fuzzy swirly background is just awesome. i like the simple-ness of it too. it isn't over crowded. it's just right! i would like to see more of these 'type of walls around from u or other people i really like the idea! thanx!
