This is a girl that I designed for an article in our new students' magazine. Therefore it had to be really simple... using not too many colors...The story: We were walking around in the whole city... trying to find shops where students have to pay less... since it is winter here... the girl is dressed in winter clothes... and yep... she has no money... that characterizes her as a student. :) *lol*

The face was inspired by Ai Yazawas character I think... *lol* Markjo submitted too many Yazawa scans recently... I couldn't get these lips out of my mind... ^_^' So thank you Markjo... for all the beautiful scans you are showing in your gallery.

The vector might not be perfect. But I only had 1 evening and 1 morning to do this... :)

I don't want to add any shadows or backgrounds... ;)

I drew a sketch and then scanned it.... used the wonderful pen tool in Adobe Illustrator.

Well I like it. I think it is funny about having no money but I guess if it were me it wouldn't be so funny. Nice.

I like the use of colours and the fashion :o <3 And it was drawn so well too- I especially like the expression on her face, like she's a bit exasperated from lack of money XD

Ai Yazawa is my favourite illustrator! ^^ I always loved her artwork, and yes, those lips of hers are just catchy. ^^

Hm, very precise shadings around the jackets and her trousers. But maybe if you could ass some more shades on her scarf, that would look pretty in your school magazine?

But yes, great job with using Adobe Illustrator in here. I really like the results. So, is the article up yet?

Pretty funky drawing - her face expression is just too good to be true. Calm choice of colours (I like it a lot) and great job on shadowing, which is not easy when using Adobe.

Ha ha. This is great. That's actually me right now too :P. I can definitely identify with your piece. Beyond that, I like your vectorization in this and the simplicity of your design and presentation of your concept. Good work :D.
