Ah, I love artwork from Visual Key. I loved Air and I can't wait to start watching Kanon...

Thought this was a nice scene for a winter wallpaper. The background was taken from a Kanon artbook which had loads of different locations from the anime. Here, as you can see, there is a snow-covered forest. I tried loads of scans with this wallpaper, but this one seemed to fit perfectly. Nothing like a perfect match to get rid of a wallpaper block I've had for quite a while.

    I'm not familiar with the anime so I can only speak to the image itself. The lighting appears very well done and consistent with a single source. But the image looks very flat overall. The background is slightly out of focus which would be natural enough for an image that had depth but the characters themselves look very flat and two dimensional. The mix of 2d characters with a bg suited for 3d gives it a weird look in my opinion. It would be possible to give the characters a better sense of depth using dodge and burn brushes to accentuate the shadings and shadows if that is something you wanted to attempt.
