This piece of work is outstanding. The meticulous use of different shades to mimic streams of light and the fine detail in her hair achieves a high level of realism and are aspects that I think make this work stand out from the rest.

The subtleties of light and shade is often very difficult to manipulate. Streams of light across an area is even more difficult as it is not merely a boundary of light and dark nor a simple gradient. To have successfully created the effects of streams of light in front of the object and filters the shades coming to the eye truly is an example of fine artistic abilitiy.

Proposed by shinsengumi and highlighted by EternalParadox.

I don't know where to begin, everything is done so well. For one, as others have mentioned, the shading is superbly done, nay, it's exquisitely done. I am in awestruck wonder at this piece. The hair almost looks real, only a few minor differences in it, but from afar, it looks almost real.

I have one thing to say in the middle of my post, cause I can't really control myself at this point, "You are a god!".

The background, well, what we can see of it, is done rather well and suits the character very well.

Until next time, Keep up the good work, and I hope to see more of your work in the passing of time.

I don't dislike it at all. It's quite wonderful, really ^^
I love how you used light here. And the style's quite trendy with a touch of anime.

It's simple yet at the same time very detailed. Thumbs up!

Wow.. This almost looks like the work of a high tech computer. *pokes the dead shape of own hand* I'll never be able to do that. Ever shade and shadow matches perfectly to where the light source should be. The details in the hair and the motion where the hand grabs the hair (nice hand by the way, I never draw mine right) to where it fall apon her head is done with grace, accuracy, and power that some of our artist in these time needs to acquire (*places big neon arrow pointing at self over head*). Also the light engulfing effect is done perfectly with enough of the image still there and enough of the glare to set the emotion that you had or acidently created for that dash of awe inspiring effect.

I love the B&W style. It give the pic a kind of 50's flair. Excellent work.
