My W.A.R. - round 3 submission. >_<
I picked the theme "BitterSweet"
well....this wallpaper is basically a spoiler to anyone who's currently watching Paradise Kiss..and haven't
read the manga yet....+_+
I've recently finished reading the manga, loved it!~ and was captivated by this scene....and i think it'd suit
the theme quite well....and so i began vectoring from a manga scan....
The ending is touching....uhm..i don't want to talk too much about the plot....I originally want to do a wall from
the scene when Yukari opened the closet....but it was kinda hard....so... =_=a
Since i have no reference to how should the dress looks like, I only know it's blue and with beads stitched on
it...i just went with whatever that came to my mind. btw, i love her ring.....
The background was inspired by a poster that i bought two weeks ago... I took the flowers from the poster..and stuck
them here...becoz i love them so much *_*
and then i kinda made a abstract bg.....:P I'm quite satisfied with the final result.
"Our love shall live, and later life renew" .... so this probably tells u the outcome of George and Yukari...sorry...spoiler!~ @_@ well..err..it made them sounds like they're going to die....but really they're not.

not only did this wallpaper win the W.A.R. contest on MT, anyone can see why this wallpaper is highlighted. When first opening this wall, you are covered in emotion, fluidity and motion. The colours grab hold of you while George is whisking his love into his arms, this wall takes you somewhere. This scan, originally from Ai Yazawa's manga- is sooo well incorporated into this background. One of the most effective, moving wallpapers seen on MT- EVER. Great work :)

Heeheee I really liked the detail and the colours used in this one, and the textures really did compliment and
accentuate this wall. You even coloured the characters in from a manga scan so that was just woah >_< The
inspiration can be seen in this one XP

Magnificent! Very good use of colors and scan. The detailed and textured vector you did
is really beautifful, and is perfectly complemented by the flowers and abstract bg. Text is very lovely, except for the
sentence in white, wich kind of breaks the athmosphere by not being warped.

just read the manga, and did wonder how this scene wld look like in color, plus I REALLY wanted to see her dress in full color too! great job on the vectoring, tho I wld haf loved to see the bead-flowers the bunch of them sewed on but guess that wld haf been pretty killer to vector *lol*

Though I was one of the judges I didn't get to comment your wallpaper, despite giving it (personal rate of course) probably the highest score I ever gave to an entry in this contest.
This wallpaper can be summed up in one word: it's effective. Which is something that many, many wallpapers that I see on MT lack of. It seems like a lot of people here just tend to go for an original concept, forgetting that what makes a wallpaper succesful it's not the originality itself, but the true effectiveness of a wallpaper. Why is this effective? Because it has a well developed concept that is WELL CONVEYED by the wallpaper itself, it's composed well, it flows well and it's easy on the eyes, it can be perfectly used on any's desktop despite one's personal taste for Paradise Kiss (and I definetely do not belong to the Parakiss' fan category). The fact that it's original it's a side-effect of all these mentioned factors.
Keep walling like this ayaki, you're surely amazing me. And it would be an honour if you would submit this (and your other works as well) over at AnimePaper. :)

Wooow.....sooo pretty! Stuff like this makes me wonder why I bother to submit wallies anymore....mine are always so amature compared to stuff like this. Just an amazing job...the colors, the vector work (which I can't do to save my life T_T ), and just the way everything blends is wonderful. Great, great work! One of the best wallies I've seen on MT in a long time. ^_^

Awww! This is so cool! I'm sad that there aren't so many wallpapers in the Paradise Kiss section, much less artwork from Ai Yazawa. But seeing this. . .. YEAAA! Very cool. I'm glad to see that some people appreciate her artwork and stories. You did an absolutely fabulous job on this.
And I agree, this is one of the best scenes from the novel. Too sad about the ending though. . . ah well. :P Still ended well in some ways. Again, great job! Definitely one of my new favorites.

The first time I saw this wall was when you were announced as the Legend of War in War, along with Misa. So I browsed around the page and saw your entry, it was marvellous. I have the wallpaper in my folders, and I really love this wall!
Coz, first, is how George, holds his beloved into his arms like that, it really gives me the romantic yet sad feeling, probably coz Yazawa-samma don't wanna reveal their eyes, it must be really sad. *sobs*
But it's really amazing how you vectored a manga scan so well that it blends perfectly well into the background. So, I'd say this is a great work!

My god T^T this wall it's so touching! Breaks my heart to remember that scene (one of my favorite ones with the scene in wich Yukari opens the closet after George it's g... and the other it's when she remembers the first time they made love buaaa *sob sob*), this manga it's perfect (just like everything Ai Yazawa does -long life for NANA lol-) and the wallpaper it's perfect too. I love the way you bring the colors of the black and white scene, this are the colors in wich Ai Yazawa's touch the readers, she's a master in the colors of the human heart and you, ayaki, know how to paint Ai Yazawa's colors from your heart... that's great ^^, I'm envious lol you're a very talented and gifted person and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this wallpaper (you bringed gorgeous tears to my lonely eyes ^^ *namida ga afurete... setsunai*).
