i love the idea and the composition.
crit: try and stay away from blending options/ bevel and emboss for the white outline of the girl. anyway i hope that
makes sense.

I did it! I've been trying to make an Ugetsu Hakua wallpaper where the scan didn't look like crap after I extracted it for... ever. ^_^' For some reason, the way I extract just doesn't mesh with the way she draws! But I finally made one that doesn't look like something that I cutout with a pair of scissors! XD~
Anyway, this combines a lot of different looks--grittiness and clean-cutness, strange angles, cool scenery and blank emptiness, solids and empty spaces, usuallty and abnormality. I like the way that sentence rolls off the tongue. XD
Er... took me... um... a long time. Extraction started back on... at least a week and a half ago, I think, and I'm just now finishing. I think it looks good, tried it out on my screen, looks good against the icons, etc. (Happy, dage?)
Incidentally, though it wasn't really part of my plan, this wallie seems to incorporate various, small elements from some of my old goodies. ^^; Interesting.
Ended up using DREAM's scan, though I had one, myself. Located @ Let's ride by DREAM

This is a very nice wallpaper on your part~ I have also always loved that scan to death. So I am glad someone finally got to actually walling it!
One of my favorite parts is how the moon is bright on one side but dark on the other, and again one side light the other dark. I'm betting that was the whole idea of the wallpaper XD
My only problem is the text.. I am not too sure if it matches the overall wallpaper. But still, good job Makhan!

Interesting. The scan is, on the whole, very well enhanced, considering how... messy it was to begin with. If you used the one I think you did, anyway. I would kind of agree with bromit that there seems to be something vaguely off about the text, though I can't place my finger on it... but, otherwise, it does match rather well. I like how you incorporated the two different elements from Monochrome.
The differing colors and sizes of the two sides is interesting, and I like how it splits the wall into what is usual and what isn't... though I'm not sure why you chose to place the... I'm guessing that's a girl... on the one side, when she obviously isn't normal.
Overall, very good. Nice work, mei.

This is an interesting blend of settings and styles - it nice and clean, and I like how you almost self reflexively... did an "in your face" kind of approach to "this is a wallpaper- not really a reality" kind of thing. Not sure exactly why you named this reality shift, but that was the impression I got from this work :P
On the note about text that everyone is talking about, I would probably say it's too close to the scan and should be moved a bit left. It looks a bit squishy too XP I'd say the bevelling is softened a bit too much :) It's nice work :nya:

Hello Makhan,
I am sorry that I haven't had time before to look at this wallpaper... but I am too busy at university at the moment, so I sometimes have to leave some notifications as they are and come back to them another time.
I like this wallpaper a lot... in fact it is a favorite for me...
Why? I love how you used different styles... how the background seems to be split into three parts but in the end is "one" again...
The only thing i don't like is the text... too close to the character and the shape looks blurry... I agree with DC on that!Apart from that really good...! It remembered me of one of your older works at once... but that's nothing bad... it's good when you know at once "oh it must be Makhan who did this wallpaper"... ^_^
Looking forward to your next wallpaper...!

A very interesting idea and the composition fits well the title. All the pieces, though different at first glance, seem to form one after a moment. As far as the text is concerned, I'd have to agree with Misa...
