This is my first attempt at vectoring.
Except I completely cheated. This entire 'vector' was made using only the selection tool and the brush tool in photoshop. I hope it mimics vectors as closely as I'd hoped. :) If you use it, a link back to here would be appreciated.

If you ended up using brushes or filters in your "vector", then it would not be considered a vector, but it would be considered CGing. Vectors can be resized and not lose its quality, so you could check for that when you finalize your project. :)

The CG looks really neat for the most part. However, one area of yellow is not there in the hair, and there's just one tiny dot on her right leg that should be filled in. Otherwise, everything else checks out just fine. ^_^

I still don't even know what a vector is.

I don't know what vector is but this looks a good vector to me, haha. So you copied the work o.O? I wonder if it was hard to do this O.o? I do fanart of drawings, i wonder if that's the same... hmmm, anyway, nice job here!

Hmmm there are a few wobbly lines, but they are incredibly smooth (eg her legs etc) for brushes XD If you did these lines freehand with a brush, then sugoi :o It just looks like you used the pentool for outlines XD The shading is done well too ^_^ Nice work!

hei, this is looks nice and neat! great vector job! ^^
but I agree w/ silent masamune, about coloring area... ^^
but, overall, that was a good job!
    keep up!

Wow... I can't believe that you made that with just the selection tool and brush.... I always at least have to use the pen tool. It looks great and I don't think many of the "vectors" on the this site were actually made with vectors, but with Photoshop impliments instead. As long as they look good :) And yours is really good!

wow, this is amazing for only using the selection tool and brushes!
the colors and shadings look wonderful, but there are smudges in her hair, particularly on the right ponytail.
    awesome work, sunira!
    :D

As SilentMasamune points out, it is not possible for this to be a vector in the true meaning of the word. Vector images are based on mathematical formula involving lines, curves, and points that either are transparent within the shape or filled with a single solid color. Bitmap images, like jpeg, gifs and others are made up of individual pixels and therefore become distorted when resized. But even in photoshop, the vectors are not actually vector images. If they were, you wouldn't be able to fill them with gradient coloration since that is based on pixel coloration. In fact, none of the images in the vector galleries are actually vectors since they have to be turned into jpegs in order to be uploaded to MT. Okay, enough with the tutorial on image formats.

This is a great mimic of what passes for vectored images. There are a couple of spots that are missing color, and the gloves could use some shading to indicate folds but overall I would have to say you did a very good job mimicking the look of a vector.

First attempt? Wow, pretty nice. You even matched the background to the backgorund of MT xD. Anyawys, they only flaw I can see is under both her arms. I think the edge between the normal colour and shadow could be blurred a little.

WOW! Great job on your first attempt!

Awesome job, a different background might have improved it though
Still, thanks for sharing! You did great!
