This is my first vector! O_O I've never even used illustrator before so why I decided to do this I do not know. In my last wallpaper I moaned that I was struggling doing something and learning something new... this is it!
I plan to use this in a wallpaper so I edited the original image to suit my wallpaper (and my lacking experience in illustrator). The image I vectored is here. As you can see I removed a fair amount and changed the eyebrows to make her look cuter.
This was not easy, first vector work and I chose to turn a low quality manga scan into a anime stlye picture O_O; ouch, all the way through it I asked myself why I chose to do something so hard so soon. It took many hours, weeks in fact. I lost count of the total time it took... about 15-20 hours maybe.
Now I have to make the background to go with it which will also be done in
illustrator

What is vector? Is that a kink of Doujinshi? Or you have fill the color in a blank one? Okay, anyway, i give it a fav for sure ^_^ Both of the question above must take you times to do and you deserve fav, sweetie !
First vector or not, this is excellent. Wonderful job.
I especially like the way the clothing folds came out. You really did an excellent job on her hair, as well. Her eyes are kind of creepy though. That yellow crescent seems to contrast a little too much with the greens and it gives me the creeps.

Did you use Live Trace in Illustrator? That is helpful but it can also be annoying depending on what settings you use. I like illustrator for painting but still prefer paint shop pro for vector work.

you actually did this with vectors? thats mustve taken ages .. but its really great ...especially the shadows and the cape.
Really? This is your first? I thought you've done some before. Hmm~ I like the lineart and you did a nice job on the changes. It has such a nice simple look to her and I like the colors. The colors that she do have is really brought out by the whiteness of her clothing. Really awesome vector!
This is really well done. I didn't know that anime but the art is gorgeous ^^ thank you for making me discover it. And if it is your first vector you're very very talented. You made very well the colors (darkened and highlighted parts) and the folds in the clothes. This is really pro ^^ The eye design is really cool and the hair too.

I really like that vector. Superb work
The lines have the rough look to them in my eyes, but trust me, they look good and are part of vectoring. Sometimes, even smooth lines look terrible on vectors, and the lines you have aren't that smooth. So in short, your vector is actually excellent, and don't worry about the non-smooth lines as they are certainly part of vectoring. ^_^
Well done vector^^ And I love her eyes the most^^ But Add in a bit more colors! I'll definately add this to my favs! Keep up th great work!
