yet another page of my "Of Me..." book has come to life.

Page 8: Of Secrets / Of Nakedness
I usually submit just the art part of the page, but I decided to
show the text this time as well. Here it is:

Of Nakedness

Once Man found himself in the middle of a vast and dark swamp full of venomous tongues and fingers pointing at him. He swam through it disgusted with himself and the filth surrounding him. He was desperate and he thought his fate would be to barely keep his head above the surface. Then from the depths below he heard a story about someone who could walk on water and he found hope for awhile.
A great deal of time the man spent trying to find him but at the end of his tether he realized that he was lied to. The story from below was just evil gossip and a mere accusation and the man was even more broken in spirit.
So he kept swimming until he saw a little isle made of questions in front of him. He was excited that he could finally take a rest and he stood up on top of it. His robes were soaked with malevolence and the man was terrified to take them off and find his body plagued with envy, but he did not have any time for fear.
He tore his clothes apart and how surprised he was when he saw his body clean and dry, his skin soft and smooth with only a mole of despondency and lassitude.
Since then the man wants to be naked...

the text is great- no complaints and your intention and purpose came through.

the artwork melds very well with the poetry and i get the sense that the only way we can ever have "beauty or truth" is to shed our skins and the walls we have constructed.

i like the flow of this page DernierCri and am looking forward to page 9.
great purpose, intent and solid delivery.

The prose really moved me. i think your art is really original and 'contemplative', which is a rare thing around here...
really full of meaning, both the text and art, though well i can't comment on it. won't man be scared to shed his chains? chains are necessary to stand and stay upright ne? i don't think breaking the walls that protect you is a wise thing to do in the actual world. though it is a goal one should try to reach.

+fav, thx for making me think ;)

This book should be posted on deviantART... X3

Love the style of the image... and the story behind it :)

Again, I love how you've constructed the image from seemingly random grunge brushes.

& is this one in any way related to "Of Unholiness / Of Gods?" It just seems that this text is also a rejection of religion, specifically Christianity, with the reference to "someone who could walk on water" in the context of the...text. Correct me if the words I'm choosing are too strong.

Such an intriguing piece! It's a great piece with a strange suburban-voyeuristic feel to it (peeking in the neighbours windows ;) ) But also... the abstractness of it really plls me in & keeps me thinking. Brilliant!
