well well well. Updated to textless version, it's even more plain but keeps a clean look. I still kind of like the
text, so I'm still offering you the original version:

Yeah, so it's done. Began this wall in...6 months ago? But long story and. Finally.
The Title is from a Leonard Cohen song called Democracy. Since the Setting is
ancient Greece and, well, you all know your history lessons..

the girl and setting convey your ideas perfectly.
i also luv the perspective of your all, but i agree with sandra about the text.

Agree totally with Yumi and other members here...Have to say, the BG is amazing, lovely and very worked one! But the text perspective isn't the same of the wall's perspective....so it feels like if the text is falling down the wallpaper (I mean the little text down the main title)
It's a gr8 work and wall, except that text!
Maybe you'll like to correct it? LoL

Whatever candy-chan says, this wall is really good. The air of an old-greek temple is quite nice, the wallpaper is quite expressive yet peaceful. I wonder, is she some kind of goddess?
Apart from that, the starts are good,the temple is quite nicely done and honestly, the clouds are really nice.

This is wonderful :) I love how you can feel the openness of the area and the sky.. It's so peaceful and beautiful and I love the Greek theme.
I think the wall works better without the text - the 'Chineseness' seems odd next to the otherwise 'Greek' feel.. And kind of disturbs the otherwise peacefulness of the wall, though that could have very well been what you were going for.
One thing that I would point out is the slight error in perspective. More specifically, in the stairs.. To emphasize the expansiveness and the receding stairs it might help to blur/lessen the contrast between light and dark as it gets further away from the front. Errm actually I just realized you did that already.. Oh, I know. It seems like the top white strip (the top of the top stair) should maybe be thinner? It seems like we see too much of it for the level of view we are at now, which is almost at eye level with, or slightly below the girl. But who cares about that kind of stuff XD I tend to obsess with stuff like this because I can't wall and can only point out such things.. ^_^'Anyway I love love love the serenity of the textless wall and the beautiful clouds and the color scheme of the whole thing that just go so well together.. I think I'll fav this :)

However, it seems like the ambient is a bit too bright? other than that, it is a great work, especially the dress and its shadow, contour. Looks real and beautiful. Quite like it.It is very nice of you to have upload the 1600 x 1200 resolution version. -

I'm glad you updated with the textless version, as I like it much better. I also pretty much agree with what CN- (Cyn) said. You are able to add an amazing amount of depth with a deceptively simple background. Great job, as always.
Haven't seen you around IRC much these days -- I haven't really been on myself -- but I'm glad to see that you're still around.

Took off the text, I see. Indeed I did not read your commentary on the wallpaper beforehand (and yes I did read the message you sent). In regards to the text: even though they were lyrics from a song, most people would not have seen that, and only assumed, as I did before, that it was some sort of political message from you. I apologize if I offended you before, and again I do commend you on a wonderful piece of artwork.

looks like crapmonster's wallpaper high hopes, because there are also stairs xD but i really like greece (i often spend my vacation there xD) and i like the clean-ness, too. good job as always, candy~
