Part 4 in a series of Kino novel chapter illustration wallpapers. This features the illustration from novel 5, chapter 8: Yojimbou -- Stand Bys (Bodyguard -- Stand bys). A really sinister looking swordsman. I liked the details in the musculature, especially on the face. I wanted him to sort of appear slowly out of a bloody mist, like a dangerous spectre -- someone to be reckoned with. Red was an obvious color choice; gradients and blood-brush use complete the effects.
Dedicated to Keltosh, because he once asked me if I had any scans of sinister looking swordsmen. I didn't at the time, and he found one on his own, but this reminded me of that.

Very beautiful blood-red wallpaper! I really like that you used what appears to be only shades of red to create such an angry scene! Your vector work is, as always, near flawless. :)

(your wallpapers are more expensive than most. I wonder if its because they're always 1600 x 1200?)

You managed to combine a clean crisp look with a grunge look at the same time. Great theme that came out of this one, you set the bar far higher then the average filter abused starry background wall.

I've never heard of this series, but I love the red color of the wallpaper. It's also dark which is what I prefer. Good wall.
