hi~
this submission is for my bleach competition^^
well, as you can see he's a shinigami with a normal katana.
it took me about 1 hour + to complete it.
he's covered with blood^^ though the blood stains i drew doesn't look like one^^""
anyways, comments and critics are welcomed^^

edit: i forgot to mention about the character XP
characteristics of Shinken [ i gave him this name, it sounds weird ^^" ]
- he is 16 years old
- chosen to be a shinigami when he was 10, because his parents are ex-shinigamis who were killed by a powerful evil
shikigami. his parents were the leaders of the 3rd and 4th division in the intelligence department. which means
they're some kind of spies.
- he intend to take revenge on the shikigami who killed his parents, so eventually he became a violent shinigami [ i
mean extremely violent XD ] so he's known as jigoku-no-akuma [ devil from the hell ] [ i'm not sure whether
the grammar is correct or not...]
- whenever a shikigami attacks he'll get excited and rushses to kill it o_0
- the katana he's holding is an extra long katana [ 5 metres ]
- it is called ryuujin^^
he got this sword from the God Of Death [ leader of all shinigamis XD ]
- it has the power of wind attacks, long range slash, flame slash [ he has to activated his power before doing so ] ,
earth quakes [ when it is thrust into the ground a huge crack will start to form ] and 9 combo attack [ this skill
attacks the 9 weak parts of the enemy ]

coolz i like it. the shading is pretty cool and the blood isn't all that bad i still like it. the sword is pretty cool but if its just a regular katana the blade would be the same thickness all the way through were it looks like it got bigger all of a sudden. i think it might be the persepective of it coming at you but then the hand would be bigger also. i dunno i'm nittpicking to much lolz sorry its good work keep it up ^^''''

lol, i like the characteristics, the attacks he's got sound like InuYasha's: Kaze No Kizu (Wind Scar)....and Ryuujin No Mai is Kagura's attack with the wind swirls...
the long sword Tetsusaiga...even though Tetsusaiga is much more professional than other swords, and i would love to have one like it!

The shading is awsome, the blood looks like blood, and I also like the moon you put for a background, although...Shouldn't you have made the bg dark cause of the moon and all?

Oohh.... for the contest? Well, just try your best then. ^^
Anyways, the shadings of the character *coughs* I mean, Shinken-san are very nicely done. The blood stains are also nice, although not realy that realistic, but bad shaders like me can't make one good blood stains like that. >.<
5 meters long? o.O, are you serious? The one you drew wasn't long enough. Are you trying to make Shinken competing with Sephiroth who has a longer katana? :p
Anyways, the drawings of your hands can be improved. For some reason, I think your hands aren't really that.. hm... 3d-ish, uh... it's kinda flat. Try refering to some mangas and imitate how they draw hands will help you somehow. ^^

I the katana is 5 meters long, how tall is he?
Your shadding is great, and I think that some of your blood marks look like watercolors. And he has some crazy eyes. Are you sure that he is not crazy already?
