It's nice to get away from all that vectorwork every so often. Here's a wall on the other side of the spectra, technique wise: the smudgeorama painted wall featuring Howl's famous castle. When I saw the movie, one of the things that struck me most was how the castle was designed in the movie: every part moving separately, yet in a coordinated enough fashion to get the building where ever its master wished. I told my friend it reminded me of clockwork. There aren't many Howl's walls out there so when I saw the scan I knew I wanted to make one. Basically redrew the left-hand portion, then smudged it to try and capture the Ghibli watercolor style.
Additional resolutions will be available at DA! Desktop Anime when I get around to updating it.

holy shit, I love it. you will be the mother of my children, Tama!

Hi, nice wallpaper. I think the scan you saw was mine but I deleted it.
Anyway, the grass is not so blending with the rocks, well in my opinion.
Overall, is okay. True that not many Howl's Moving Castle is here.
Well, great job.

PS: sry, my favs is over the limit T_T

nice work. i like the concept of the the whole clockwork idea and i like scenery in the back.

beauuuuuuuuuuutiful. :o absolutely gorgeous. i think there always needs to be more "abstract" pieces and concepts, walls always focus on people--it's nice to see originality!

Another wall of another movie with an inherent anti-war message @_@

so wonderful to see howl's wallpaper...
i love the look of the castle, very mysterious with the moon.

It's really pretty. XD XD XD

ooh. i never thought i would see the day tama gives a break from the vector and goes into smudging (hey, that's my profession! lol. j/k xD xD xD)
it looks good. i think the mountains could be a tad sharper coz it seems a little too blurry compared to the scan.
but but but. it's great. nice work as always tama!

Wow, very nice. Great job with the smudging, it almost looks like a painting. When I saw this movie, I really though the castle was amazing and I'm glad that you made it the focus of your wall. Great work as always, tama-neko! :)

Yay, Howl's Moving Castle! <3! I love the way you planned your sceneric
wallpaper. Love the smudging effect too. Very creative. ^_^ Keep up the good work!

Incredible wallpaper as usual, Tama-sama!

This is just incredible - the detail, the texture of the overall piece...you always do remarkable work, but with this one you've outdone yourself.

wha? Why isnt this wall more popular? I LOVE it! Amazing painting style. You used smudging but it still has so many details! I especially loved this Ghibli movie..I loved the book by Diana Wynne Jones (sp?) too. this is going to be my new desktop bg! Really great lighting effects on the castle too!

this is so kewl...i love it

Such a surreal piece of artwork! A literal moving castle that moves across the landscape. . . I may not understand the methods you have used in this wallpaper, but I do know art when I see it. A round of applause for you and your great wallpaper! :)
