Another scan by Yoshitaka Amano that I found in DREAM's gallery. http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/92184/
When I saw it, I fell in love with this wonderful looking creature. And I liked the story that I could read in the drawing... Flowers becoming planets...
So what did I do... not much... I used the pentool... increased the number of flowers to fill the space... and I was trying for some days to make a background that fits... I even drew myself... but... I ended up with what you see. -_- Somehow I didn't like the color that much that Amano used, but maybe it's cause lilac in generally doesn't look that good to me.
So I chose that little yellow part of the wing as my background color...

I like how peaceful it looks... and hopefully some of you will feel the same...

Quote by RegenbogenShe looks really fascinating... When I look at this image I think of a peaceful planet far away somewhere in a universe that only exists in dreams... unfortunately.... with calm, spiritual, intelligent... somehow on a higher level... but these are just my thoughts... thoughts of my confused mind... ;)

the above is your comment on the scan...

that scan is one of my 25 favourite Amano artworks.

wall: your extraction is very very good - i see no problems. the compositon is very good and your addition of flowers complements the original excellently. essentially it is an extention which leads me to my one criticism. upon initial view i was taken slightly aback to see a predominately yellow background. obviously a white bg is inadequate but i would have changed it to a very light blue myself. A shade of light blue [matching the planet] would have set a mood of reflection [better] etc..; but alas overall this is an excellent Amano wall and demands praise. :)

    + favs

note to self: i hope there are some scans left when i start walling Amano myself. :) perhaps i should hold off on submitting scans. jk

im really happy with the quality of Amano-sama wallpapers of late. ^^

I personally like the yellow bg very much, but I'm fond of that color. It would also be interesting to see a dark bg for this (as if it were in space). The drawing itself is beautiful, and just as dream said, your compositions is very good.

I am mostly fond of the tranquility that I see in this work, which I don't get from the original scan by itself. Thank you for this experience :D.

I like the story too... and the colours as well - the original image is one of my favourites in Dream's gallery to begin with.

Artistically, stylistically I think it's your best wall to date. The colors are lovely and everything fits well. The problem is the interesting "story" behind the wall... the flowers becoming planets... wasn't obvious to me until after I read the description =/ Really terrific job with photoshop XD Now I think that you just need to work in more of the thought-provoking components in your conception + Amano's scans >__< *hugs and waves*

nice details to the planets and piece over all, rather like the layers to the wings, outstanding job on the piece, it's an interesting alien design great job.
