Another wallieee!!! ^_^

I saw this scan on AnimePaper and knew I had to wall it. Its perfect for Halloween. I know its still really grainy but I did my best to clean it so I'm sorry about that. It was really bad to begin with. I did my best there. >_< I know there are a few extraction problems too, but most of the scan was black like her and therefore hard to cut out. But hey at least I'm trying right? ^_^' Here is the scan ---> Sakura Scan

The pumpkin she is sitting on I extracted from a stock photo. Click to see --> pumpkin pic. I tried to draw one but it looked awful. >.<

Everything else is brushes. I used a simple tutorial for the starfield, it was easy to do. I think there are about 10 layers total. I know it seems like so few. >_<

Well I hope you all like this wallie and thank you for looking. Remember to have a happy and safe Halloween! ^_~

Very nice attempt at adjusting the spatial dimensions for the pumpkin; it definitely goes quite hand in hand with the scan. One little problem is the trees; a different blending mode for the trees is recommended because I see the blurry and non-connected areas on the smaller branches and twigs. The grass could also cover some more distance so it looks like it's disappearing as it goes into the horizon, and that is done by making the grass become darker towards the background (near the top). The same thing could be applied to the sky (the sky becomes darker towards the bottom). The text in the middle of the wallpaper also doesn't really belong (yes, text is very tricky, so you need a totally good eye to know which styles are suitable for the wallpaper). The colors are fairly decent, and your extraction is very nice.

Not to worry, Halloween will be safe for me because I don't plan on going outside to get beaten up by a bunch of eggs and going back to the dorm smelling like tomorrow's breakfast. XD Instead, I'll probably be online that day.

very fun concept here, and i really like how you incorporated that pumpkin into your wallie.
it's so cute how sakura is sitting on top of it! and you did a great job in photo manipulating the pumpkin so it would blend in well with your wallie. but i gotta agree with mel about adding depth to the grass by making it darker as it reaches the horizon, and i'm not too crazy about the text... ^_^' oh, and i would've luv to see a moon there, too... XD
overall, this is such a cute halloween wallie!
    :D

Really great wall you have done.
I like that background full of starsthose birds and treas are good looking
too and they fit in haloween subject. Sakura looks great too. Her outfit is great
and that pumpkin is fine looking too. So it really is great piece of work. :)

Hm..... I really like what you did here..... I think though that the sky needs to blend more with the trees..... It's too flashy.... since your theme is Halloween what I would do is make a more darker grayer sky..... but, this is just my opinion though overall great wallpaper can't wait to see more of your work!

A Halloween theme! Awesome idea! I really like the way the starry night sky looks. The colors are great and I love the contrast between the backgroundand the scan. The Sakura scan is soooo adorable! hehe she looks very cute! I see the difference between the original and what you've done! :) Nicely done! Also, good job with the pumpkin and grass. Looks great. And the trees and bird brushes make the wallie look ready for Halloween. Very nice work, as always. Keep it up!^^

Ah! This is such a cute wallie! And its a halloween one too! Haha. I love it AngelKate! Wow the way you made the pumpkin match in the wallpaper was so good! You did a very great job cutting out Sakura. With that black background, it must of have been hard. XD
Great job AngelKate!! Can't wait for another wallie of yours! Adding it as a fave. =]

    Yay! Halloween ROX!!
Awesome wall, the sky is so pretty & awesome scan!
    Awesome, keep it up!

  20. fooblued Oct 18, 2005

Really really cute, but the one thing that bothers me is that the scan is darker than the background. The colors in the background are very saturated and the character has a less intense contrast, very cute still :)

  21. suisei- Oct 18, 2005
