Mmm, how I love this novel. If you have yet to read it, shame on you.

I knew from the moment I saw the poster for the upcoming movie, I wanted to vector it. And considering it's my first attempt at vectoring a real person and not an anime scan, I'm not exactly satisfied with it.

One a side note, I feel like I'm supporting the movie, which I'm rather reluctant to do as after I saw the trailer I had the feeling the film is going to stray from the book. (Damn you Hollywoooooood) Moving along, after vectoring, I picked out some patterns from Tama-Neko's pattern site and blended them into the mush you see now just as a filler. I also chose a memorable line from the novel itself to add some detail. Blue was the color I chose for the primary colors, because of the focus on Sayuri's "water personality" in the book.

More resolutions soon at Antique Fairy Tales.

A wonderful vector with plenty of beauty and simplicity which aids in a clear and fresh composition such as this! An inspirational delight! Well done Rock 'n' Roll Isgo! :)

Simply my favourite book of all time and I have been waiting so long for the movie to come out. Using the name Chiyo came from this book (I couldn't get it on here as its taken). Going to add this to my faves to spread the love.

    Great work.

This wall definitely caught my attention. I really like how you did this wall, with the patterns and all. It seems her facial features have been vectored to perfection. I don't see many wallpapers in this style and now that I've seen one, I truly believe it looks great. I have to say, the promotional poster for this movie (which I can't wait to see) makes Ziyi Zhang look so odd...she doesn't look like herself at all...

    i know who you draw
she is a chinese actor whose name is zi.yi.Zhang

Really pretty vector art! And I watched the movie before reading the book... When I finished reading I felt ashamed for spending money on that crappy movie. Really, I thought it was good, but after the book I decided never to see a book-movie again. BOOKS ARE BETTER!

.... i can only say "HOLY CRAP" this one is so nice , i really think it draws out the beauty of the movie perfectly . not only to mention how mysterious and beautiful the culture that once was , instant fav !

How I hate it when great wallpapers don't get the favs they deserve!
It's absolutely superb! A flawless vector and the Japanese-like texture sets the perfect atmosphere for a geisha.
I also love the novel, I watched the movie twice and read the book in 2 days... It's extremely well written.
