There's been discussion over Minitokyo mascots. I found my old Anime Expo 2004 baby-tee staff shirt which had an SD girl in a kimono and thought that might be a good idea: the chibi character would represent the "mini" while the kimono would represent Japan and hence the "Tokyo". I went through my Cafe Kichijouji manga since the Chichai Cafe Kichijouji sections (Mini Cafe Kichijouji) are full of SD characters which I wanted to use to get ideas of poses for SD characters. One shot was of a character (I think it was Minegawa) sitting on a bench eating a watermelon. Well, I switched out the melon for a laptop to represent the fact this was a digital art community and made it a girl wearing a kimono. Since it's fall, I gave her a fall patterned kimono of yellow with orange maple leaves.

Not to say that it is a bad mascot, but I dont think it's the best we could come up with.

The ideas of "digital community", Tokyo and "mini" influencing this mascot is nice, although there are also other images that these words bring to mind, that a mascot designer could make (eg, when I think "Tokyo", I think a large densely populated city and modern Japanese life).

    Just my 2c.
