This is a wallpaper I made for the series Elfen Lied. It took about 16 layers and I worked on it sporadically for three days. The background image, the one with the mask breaking away and the image of Lucy with her head in hand are all scans from the CD booklet of the series soundtrack . Unfortunately, I can't recall where I got it from because I have had them for a couple months. The head-on shots at the corners came from playing the anime using VLC media player at full-screen and then I used Irfanview to take screencaps. The screen caps came out better than VLC's 'snapshot' function. The work was done using PSP 9. Hope you enjoy.
Comments, suggestions and thoughtful critiques are all appreciated. I won't ask you to view the fullsize, but there honestly are aspects of the wallpaper that arent apparent in the thumbnail. Thanks for your time. =)
*Note: This was previously uploaded but I screwed up when I wanted to update it and wound up deleting it from my gallery. Apologies to endsoftheworld for losing his commentary.

Oh.... There are alot of problems here, just as i think .... Maybe you are going to add in it a horible feeling but red and dark blue cant go together like that ..... And all the bg scans should be more clear even they are in small size viewing....
Why dont you mix up the color a bit getting on well with each other so the wallie will be more attractive ^^. Hope to see more of your work soon ^^.

Actually, I personally don't see a problem with blue and red together. My problem though is there's too much red. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome abstract job for sure. Really like the chaoticness about it. But add some other colors maybe? That would actually make it even more chaotic and I personally think it would look even better. Keep up the good work, my friend! =^_^=

Thanks for the commentary. The image is heavy on red because I wanted it to reflect the blood and carnage that surrounded Lucy. Elfen Lied was one of the bloodiest animes I have ever seen where the gore didn't overshadow the story. That is reason behind my extensive use of red in this particular image.
