W.A.R. - [Battlegrounds] [Official thread] | My entry to Round 1: Infatuation.
Beginning note: I have never read Nana, so I apologize if the idea behind this wall is unfair to the character. ^_^'
That being said...originally, I was planning to do a Range Murata wall, since I have watched Last Exile but ::insert note:: But then I saw this Nana scan >> nana6, and the idea of doing a wall on self-infatuation ::i.e. narcissism:: began blooming in my head. This is the fruit of that idea.
When I think of infatuation, I think of sinuous lines: sensual, and a little sinister. And naturalistic lines, reminiscent of twisting plants, seemed especially suitable to the theme of narcissism, narcissus being a type of flower. So I vectored some Art Nouveau style embroidery that I Googled, and injected them with more sinuous patterns. The abstract flowers and butterflies just seemed natural accents after that.
The title is a reference to the Greek myth of Narcissus and Echo.

is she in the bathroom or like in school in calss because shes doing her make up and i've only seen them do that in the bathroom (on t.v.) like in a rresturant when thay want to dissgust something the dude said and make fun of him or in class to make the teacher made or to try to hit on him

*Jumps around* 'Sake is back with a wallie with that favorite "simple/elegant" patterned style of mine... >_________< I love the scan you picked and your conception of "infatuation"... and the background patterns and swirls. Uber simple, elegant, and stylish. I do wish that her skin wasn't the same color as her robe (although the current effect is interesting in its way) and the floral patterns extended a little more... although the understatement is nice as well XD Blurring is a bit of a problem in full view, but everything looks great on my desktop. *stands back and admires* I like it >__<

Hm..a bit plain. But that's just a newbie waller's point of view. After all, you do belong in the Simple-ism group right? ^^ Anyways, I like how you used the floral design to mask the pattern of swirls under it.

Simplisitc at fist glance, but one can see allthe little details put into the swirls. If all those little details were everywhere within the wall it would be too overbearing, so good use of them :nya: . Art Nouveau styles happen to be one of my favorite in design because it represents an era when things were fancy, yet unrefined.
Very balanced look your wall has despite being mostly on one side. She also seems very vain ... so perhaps she in infatuated with herself a little too much to be prancing around in her undergarments. Well, nevermind that one I do that at my own house XD . Good take on the infatuation theme :D .
