Ahhh I can't take it no more, this is it, I might add a few more things in the future, such as perfecting the starfield, etc. (for all you guys that don't know, I'm a noob lol)
I got started when I was learnning how to vector about 2 weeks ago, it was the most tedious thing I ever did in illustrator, it took me about 30 hours and 500+ path to finish vectoring meer off, I choose this scan to vector because I loved the pose, kinda erotic and sadden? Anyways I got the idea to do a tribute wall after I watched GSD episode 47 where meer died I was like WUT!!!? So it was perfect timing. The angel wings I spent about 2 hours in school daydreaming and penciled it. Scanned on my computer and vectored and colored once again in illustrator, I just thought a feathered wing wouldn't suit a vectored image, I was right I guess. The feathers though I think I just traced from someone's image (ahh got to find and give credit later). I played around a lil with the vectored image, such as adding highlights to the wings, soften some color shades, etc. hopefully it came out ok.
Err there is nothing spectular about the background since I have no idea how to make fancy ones yet. Just a starfield and a planet, the starfield is done by Greg Martin's method, Planet is done by texturing and layer style.
Lastly I want to say there was a hell lot of trouble and mistakes in the whole process, for example, my computer crashed when I was 80% done with the vectoring, I recovered a saved file with 50% done so that's about an extra 10 hours of work. I made the starfield very small (just wallie size) so it didnt look good but I wasn't about to go back and make a big one and resize it again. And the last funny thing is, my laptop resolution only goes to 1024 x 768 and I made the wall 1280 x 1024 didn't realize 1280 x 1024 wouldn't resize XD. (1280 x 960 resize = 1024 x 768) so I had to move around stuff but it came out ok!!!
