All right. Here's my W.A.R. submission for the first round. The concept is that this woman has a sick infatuation with
someone who doesn't really exist. I actually wanted to make it a bit creepy and disturbing, and Tantaga said she
thought I succeeded.
I'm also participating in the collaboration round, so I've got a lot to do. ^_^'

Infatuation, based on my interpretation of the definition, is an unreasonable, foolish(and maybe sometimes even insane)
desire for someone or something, and most people think that necessarily means love. I guess I just had a different take
on the theme.
Round requirements:
The theme was infatuation, and the only scans allowed were Range Murata or Nana artwork. I went with Range Murata,
since I love his artwork. There are not many scans representing infatuation unless there's a story behind them in these
categories. My opponent for the first round is Biriwilg. ^_^'

I'd like to thank MadMover for submitting the original scan.
First, I vectored the man and then cut him out of the scan. I wanted the shadows to be a little bit more abstract than
just an exact vector, so I added and removed them as I saw fit. I can't even count the texture and grunge overlays, but
most of the grunge is filter work. Some of it was made with brushes, but not very much. I originally used a cursive
font for the text, but later decided that something more solid would look better.

Reason: Great use of Yoshitoshi ABe's work. The golden and brown hues are what
make the wall so interesting, and it's done very well. Looks very eroded.

Man, I love how you made the male almost ghostly. You really did well with the theme.
The wall is pretty cool over all. The colours and grunge you chose to use is really fitting.
The only thing I can see that I could possibly critisize is that is it probably too over saturated.
Actaully, thats not even a critique, thats just down to my own personal preference. Really good

I've been looking at this wall ever since I saw it in my notifs and I have to say it really has just capitivated me. Not only the unique concept of it all, but just the whole wall in itself. I can't say I've ever seen an idea like this before, ever.
First off, the scan. This is truly a beautiful thing you've done here. I'm rather fond of Range's work and I have to say that woman is sporting..a very unique outfit =S....but that isn't what I think is beautiful, what I'm talking about is what you did with the guy. After seeing the original scan and seeing what you did here, honestly, I would of never guessed that the two were in the same scan @_@. It..really is just amazing with what you did with the guy. Honestly, I think you perfectly accomplished the concept of the guy not actually being there, yet to the woman, he does exist. It really does give a sorta 'disturbing' feel to it, but honestly, I love it. I think it's a beautiful idea and just how you did it as well, espeically with his eyes (thats what sold me over, big time, at first I thought he was wearing sunglasses from the thumbnail @_@ hehe) and just how he blends into the background..it really does give him the appearance of being a shadow almost, dare I even say imaginary. Just...a wonderful job, Zephy.
The background, wooo~ Oh wow, of course I made a comment early about how you blended the guy into the background and I think you did a perfect job as well with making him apart of the background, very subtle I might add as well and the whole color scheme of the wall fits very nicely with the colors of the woman's outfit. The background assists even moreso to the disturbing type of feel that you were going for and really kinda gives a 'frozen in time' type feeling to me (well..since it obviously is, but the feel almost is like an old photograph, well, the colors of it anyways are, my apologies if you take an offense to this =x) which is something I am really fond about. I especially love how the wall starts off light at the top and gets darker as you go down. To me, that just really fit perfectly and really also aided in showing the viewer that this man that she believes exists, really doesn't. I can also see a few buildings and what appears to be scenery as well (or so it looks to me, I dunno if I'm dillusional or not) which, if it is in there, is a rather nice addition for the background. The whole 'grunge' feel to this wall is amazing and I do have to agree with Yumi, you have quite a bit of potential in making grunge walls. I honestly would love to see you make one, =3 I'd look greatly foward to that, but back onto the wall. The whole colors and combination of effects just looks amazing and I have to say, combined with the scan this wall is absolutely outstanding. The text is quite nice as well, a bit too large in my opinion, but heya, I personally think it fits very nicely with the wall and overall does express the mood of the wall overall.
Overall, this is just a simply amazing work of art. I really, truly admire this wall and I think you perfectly achieved what you were going for. A beautiful, yet disturbing concept that looks just simply outstanding. I wish you the best of luck in w.a.r. Zephy, I know you'll do quite well :). This is a favorite for me.

Totally amazing. I love how you changed the guy and made part of the bg. It creates a cool illusion that she's leaning into a kiss with a poster or 2-D guy. Of course, you're grungey bg is really quite pretty and has great textures. This is definitely very eye-catchy. Awesome work!

the vector looks disturbing, just as you wanted XD kinda makes me feel sorry for the girl that she liked a shadow of a person. the distressed bg helps the theme along cause its all messed grungey looking.
its another good WAR submit ^___^ lol all the subs seem pretty good to me as of now and itll be hard for the judges XD

What an interesting oddity this is. Grunge=wicked awesome in my book, so I have to you give credit on how the bg looks. The bg looks like the inside of an old room;the colours, lighting, and shadowing look pretty phenomenal, as well as the texturing,adding an eerie vibe tacked on with that "non-exsistent" fellow there. Speaking of said guy, you did an excellent job vetoring and revectoring him into the bg , giving him a ghostly appearance. The girl looks pretty good herself, though her choice in lovers seems abit disturbing (which could also be said about everyone on this site, lol j/k ^_^). Fantastic work Zephiris, I really enjoyed this piece :) (and Range Murata's work rulz XD !).

That is disturbing...in a cool way though. The shadows of the man's eyes are especially creepy ::shivers:: & somehow you've changed the feel of the female character from seductive to tragic. The concept is very interesting too: exploring a darker side of the word infatuation.
