Well this is my WAR submit!
The theme is Infatuation...which causes foolishness. grunge style
ok in short, this wall is a story...read the story
Background info of the STORY:
The scene portrayed here is the advanced stages of infatuation and the couple here has run away from they're
respective parents and are taking a break in the 'No Parking' zone of the Seaside Route....how romantic XD
the girl has also taken the liberty of vandalising the sign, which is illegal, and she was obiviously under the
influence of something called *squint* Pocali Sweat oO lol fortunately T&T
supermarket sells a similar drink and its something of a sweet carbonated drink...so maybe she's hyper?
Now, for the talking bit (i will also be inserting my personal explainations):
girl: "the view is beautiful" -- she is mentioning the scene I created hehe ^^
boy: "i know it is" -- i know, its a very nondescript reply ^__^
girl: "was it ok to write on the sign?" -- a reference to her admission of the foolishness caused by her infatuation
boy: "....probably" -- shows hes pretty foolish cause of infatuation as well XD

if you haven't noticed, this story line text is also faintly seen on the pavement of the road in the wall ^^ heheh i feel so ingenious >___<
lol I had a ton of problems with the ideas to make a wallpaper so I decided to do another one of CGing the whole thing. Yep, everything from the signs to the lighthouse is CGed by me, no stocks used ^^ I find everything looks more realistic if you do it yourself.
notice, i made the sign post crooked and the no parking sign an IMperfect circle XD i think its these little things that make it look more wallpaper looking...hmm the seaside route sign seems a bit bent as well =P
the shadow of the couple was vectored based on the original scan.
clouds are made in the anime style i used on the FMA wall. probably a little more difficult here cause the clouds arent
the typical blue and white colors.
and i did add those extremely annoying birds ~_~ lol i didnt want to use em cause they seem so common in walls nowadays
but i ended up scattering them throughout the whole wall.
see how many you can find ^^
the colors of the wall might be ugly and even a bit weird...possibly because of the screen settings to this stupid flat screen thing im using -_-

Wowies, lots of work put into this wallpaper but it really shows in the end!
Simply love the colours, it really suits the Range Murata's artwork and style. I love your "No Parking" sign! It's so cool! And it's crooked with it's little graffiti (A good thing ^^). Everything comes together very nicely and I just love the textures! Awesome work! Taking one home for a-wr! -

the bg does look nice when u don't have any stock imgs
but i think the boarder line from the grass to the sea looks a bit strange
it doesn't look smooth enough
i would of perfered it if there weren't any words reaching up to the street curb...

no parking.. XD the characters seem to love violating a number of rules (including their parents) XD
i love the background, kai. very subtle. especially the way the cliff and the sea blends well with the sky. with a mix of the texture. it looks very life-like.
and the no parking sign. XD i love it. it just goes to show you that there are some lazy sign markers that are willing to make imperfect circles. XD but i know it's on purpose and i happen to like it. :)hmm... i see... 14 too. [from iyasis] i acutally counted first and browed to see if anyone got the same number. XD but it was really hard to find because of the texure =\.
but great job, nonetheless! :D

Amazing wallpaper , really awesome , me love all in this one , the concept , the bg the scan , everythin ! We need more walls like that one Kai ! Great one. nice story! ^^ Well I dont like soo much this theme (city, road, war...) but you wallie is very very good!! background is well dona and characters are well fixed. colors looks soft and ancient. you did a nice job here.

You did that ALL by hand? I commend you. I'm still stuck at making things, and I can't find any tutorials. ( I want to make a pillar for a layout, and its not going so good). It even looks like its litterly from an anime, so smooth and soft. You should make a tutorial on how to do this stuff :: Laughs:: XDD
Also, I love how the signs are all bent and unperfect. It adds to everything. Soooo smooth. Fav!

It took a few minutes for this wall to sink in. Now, its my desktop. There was just something about it that drew me into it. I think its the style. At first it seemed some things within in were random for some reason. But it grew on me. The scan is a really good choice, and I really love how the entire wall looks like a painting. The words on the road are a nice touch, and blend in a good way. The background, amazing. This wall has taken my heart XD Great job Kai, and good luck.

Nice concept. Fits with the scan. Not so sure about the commentary though ;)
Good extraction and nice grundge effects as always.
Clouds look pretty good. Road is a little plain. I'd expect more pock marks, cracks and the like although I appreciate how incredibly difficult that would be.
The P sign could probably use some shadow to better show how it's bent.
Overall great piece of work. Keep it up. -

nice situation there..I just like the relaxed/rebellious atmosphere you put in it..though the girl look too kind to do any vandalism :P ..anyway , just like the texture , the whole concept/idea...very nice work :)
