There I was, randomly browsing through artists, looking for 'rare gems'.. and the 'I' category in Studios and Creators particularly attracted me. I wondered who was so 'confident' to name himself Imperial Boy, clicked and voila! A rather small but certainly impressive gallery appeared.
What a detailed cityscape!
It looks like a rather technologically advanced city made of metal scraps, wires and pipes, a mixture of Venice and Japan.
The modernity of the surroundings is further shown by the scrawling of graffiti, some hip-hop, some 'hippie'. Orange-lit signs, walkways and clutter give an impression of blustering city-life, despite the fact there aren't much people to be seen.
That said, a few signs of a homelier life can be seen, such as the simple carpet lying on the wooden landing in the top left corner, and the pots of flowers on the hanging rack.. which moves me, strangely.
I love the perspective, it's dramatic and really makes me feel like I'm leaning over the rails, gazing out to the scene! And golly, I did do that when I was a kid. ^^I wish there was more of this artist to savour.. Do tell me more about him! I'll fave this and all the other scans. :)
