Hmm the zoom effect seems to work nicely here, and the scan lines and blurriness of it fits. However, the scan behind Shinji looks to be of pretty low quality, maybe you can clean that up a bit. (Go to http://www.imanimetions.net for a tutorial on cleaning scans if you don't know how to do so). Also, I don't really how the background has been overlaid on Shinji, it looks pixelated and strange, maybe get rid of that part. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Well, thanks for the response, however, as described, we made the background ourselves...we didn't use a scan.
The effect on Shinji came from an early idea of making it look like he had some sort of high-tech camo. We simply spherized the background behind him and then made him transparent. Now it just serves as an extra effect...I've been thinking about remaking the background, not because of the quality but rather because I wanted the dark lines white or lightish gray.. Have to speak to Peter about it.
Still, thanks alot for your thoughts! :)

Thanks, although I wasn't alone on this one. We experimented alot... the first drafts weren't as "wierd" or experimental as this one, we just kinda played around with the layer settings.
This, however, was made with alot of thought and feeling. I feel It may have a wee bit to many colours, otherwise I'm kinda proud... thanks again! -
