Now it's really been some time since I made a wall ^_^' but I kind of had lost the inspiration.
So I thought of trying a new style for me and I had always enjoyed the grunge works I have seen here so I decided to try and here is my first attempt at grunging.
Many layers, many brushes and lots of fun trying this new style... I also added a stock photo but just to give a texture over the hole thing ;) it barely shows >_<
Brushes I used can be found here: Fragile Decay and J-A-S-H-I-N... Thanks for the awesome brushes! :D
The scan used is from the Artbook Collection Flamboyant - Ugetsu Haku but they are not available now since the original scanner requested them to be removed from Minitokyo, so, sorry guys for not giving the link to the scan ^_^' man, it's a shame because the artwork is quite beautiful *sigh*

I wish to thank two dear friends of mine that helped me with ideas for this one dahl and maho-ho

Anyways, I'd like to have your opinions on my first attempt at this style ;)

U P D A T E
Yay! finally I've made the update... it took me more time that expected... mainly because I've been busy these days and also a bit lazy ^_^' but here it is:
>Removed the inner glow from the charachters
>Blended the film strips more so they are not that obvious now ;)
>Faded the grunge work over the girls so they look more clean and yet they keep on blending :hmpf:
>Added effects to the girls so they look more vivid...
Thanks a lot for all the input, I hope it has turned out ok XD

Finally! you have submit complete work :o One really is wonderful. I like much the colors that you used, combine perfectly with the image. Also, it seems to me interesting to connect the image and background. It is really a good work, the extraction of the image, is very well. The letter is seen well in wallpaper. ;) For my, it is an honor to be able to cooperate with you friend. And of course, you know that accounts with my support. :D

What can I say? It is incredible! Really! I love everything about it: the texture, the colors, those wonderful brushes, the way the scan blends in the bg, the fonts you used, everything is magnificent! Your first grunge wallpaper is absolutely gorgeous, you are a great artist, you have an amazing aesthetic sense, your wallpapers never cease to improve! I don't need to say this...Fav!

oh nice work!! i love that background, the texture and the use of the different shades of a color is just great. i also love how the pic fits just right...keep it up!

Hmm the first time grunge work is pretty good. But the image you used is good as well, but I dont think you should have faded away the edges of it. It kinda makes it looks like it starts from anywhere and has no balance. And maybe you could brighten them up a bit, and do grunge around them? Hmm for the most part everything looks really good, I would just un-fade the scan on the edges. Good work ^^

Very interesting indeeed. This grunge wallie, even though it is a first, has nice texture, pallete and arrangement. There are some filmstrips I would blend a little bit more. But hey, it's not my wallie... it's yours. I find it eye catching that the guns on two of the girls are "hidden" so only their silhouette is distinguishble. A definite fav.

Kinda CHaotic if you ask me but ive been in that type of grunge when i first started but then youll find out that chucking the same effect with the same brushes will take its toll and youll have to either use a limit amount of them.... try blending both a scenic bg and grunge and see how it will go....Anyway good job on your first! ^__^

Yosh, late kara is here to see Revan san's work *nods to self*
It's great to see you trying new things, just like what we've been talking about XD
I really like grunge works too and this is great for a first attempt!!
The fading the characters into the background is an interesting concept but the grunge around the characters is kind of sharp and I think that it would it would go better with a clear and sharper scan... and I think you shouldn't cover the guns so much... weapons *_*
But the atmosphere is portrayed really well in your wallie and font is way spiffy XD
    Congrats on your first grunge!!
