Um, another new wallpaper. Yup. Brushes were courtesy of www.rebel-heart.net, picture is Kotani Kinya's Blaze CD single cover. Wasn't really an effort, though, just messing around because I liked the pic.

Great composition! I also loved the pic you used and the way you used the brushes!.... a couple things though, the scan is grainy and not as bright as the pink you used for the curls, use contrast to tweak the colors to match both the foreground and background . The curls are too blurred, leave them sharp and use some layer styles to make them pop or lock the transparency in the layer and use gradients on the curls or colors them, or use the same curl brush on the layer to add texture :D My two cents!

Feedback is always appreciated. I've only been using Photoshop for a few months, and I've only been getting into more advanced techinques as of late. I'm self-taught. ^^;
I never thought of locking the layer to use gradients, thanks! But the graininess was what I was sort of going for. I didn't really want a finished or professional look, this one was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. Still, awesome ideas!

Thanks! Fooblued was right, though, this did come out pretty grainy. The scan that I got was in the Kinya single, and I got that off of BitTorrent. I wasn't even expecting to find it. So I'm lucky I even had it to mess around with.
And with the brushes, just practice, practice, practice. It's all about using it and then changing your mind.

I can't take credit for the wing effect, clamp actually did that... I did bring it out a bit more with layer effects, but it's all their fault.
