Hmm.. looks pretty good, but...
well first things first. I can't speak well to the tech/abstract clutter, but the colouring is pretty nice, and the scan you chose goes well with the tech background.
The problem I have is the fuzzy line. Now before you ignore the rest of this paragraph, let me explain XP I've no probelm with the concept, in fact I think the concept is a pretty cool idea. I just think that there is an inconsistancy that makes the border look a bit off. I think the problem is the way you've implemented it, it looks like the scan itself is materializing, not the character. If the character was materializing, all of her lines would be a little fuzzy, even where, say, the arms overlap the legs. Personally I think this would be a lot cooler, if there was less fuzziness in say the head/shoulder area, but more in the arms/extremities, including inside lines, to give the impression of a fade in or out by stages. (even if you went to the extent of erasing some thin lines completely to show the background underneath)
Oh, and also, there is this white spot that you missed in the extraction in the area of the .. *ahem* er well between the legs

I really like the abstract effects and the beautiful colors. I prefer soft colors, but sometimes it must be :)

Very cool. I've no comments about the bg. As for the character, can't quite catch the reason on the fuzzy elements around the character outline. Perhaps you were going for a teleporation effect on the character?
