Nice wallpaper. I like the bg alot, but what I like most is Ryoko. She's my favorite character in the Tenchi Muyo series. I'll add it to my faves...nice work.

After the whole Strike Gundam Girl affair, I still wanted to wall(fortunately), but nothing..well, so bloody serious. So a day or so of work later, we have this.
Scan: From here. Me, Im much more fond of the fanarts, the rare and unusual scans and all that. This just looks cool to me, Ryoko would *so* fit into a comedic fantasy setting.
Background: Fantasy, of course. Managed to find a good castle image(`cause my attempt to vector one failed more miserably than the Hindenburg), and made it work. I wanted the floating-castle thing deliberately. After all, why have a castle when you can have a *floating* castle? Throw in a dragon, and some nifty clouds that at least *attempt* to match the lighting on the castle image, and BOO YAH! *pets his naked mole rat*
Time: Oh, about a day. Extraction took a couple hours, playing around with the clouds and lighting was most of it. Plus the little rocky outcropping at the bottom right.
Well..thats all folks. Next up, Amalgamation contest..I think..

*looks at the BG and her mind screams dragonlance* *ahem* I think most definitely the castle is from the cover for the game "Champions of Krynn" ^_^ The clouds are beautiful, the dragon looks too blurred and the castle looks a little bad quality, but overall very nice ^_^

The scans definitely need some sort of cleaning up because it's a bit grainy (and castle included) and I wish that her hair didn't clash so much with the rest of the colour scheme because it's aqua >_< I would really lose the outer glow as well because it separates Ryoko from the rest of the background.
Overall though, this is something different to your normal wallies and you're transitioning slowly into the scenics... which is something good to see since you're trying something new :)

wow... that's still very nice.. i can't believe how good the backgrounds are that you make...

Agreed, Ryoko would fit perfectly into some Fantasy setting.
I think it's a perfectly done cross-over. The armor/sword style hold true to Tenchi while also fitting the genre. You did an excellent job on the background, namely the clouds. I also like how you broke down the fantasy thing, "I wanted the floating-castle thing deliberately. After all, why have a castle when you can have a *floating* castle? Throw in a dragon," which is a blunt but perfect way to describe Fantasy :P
In all, excellent job. The dragon seems a little fuzzy but he is, after all, in a frikken cloud.

Well, if it isn't my old friend Teryon. World domination no longer pertinent, I'd say you have a fine piece of artwork right here. She looks good in the fantasy incarnation, yes, although she's the kind of character who can be used in a broad manner, sort of a jack of all trades for setting. She's just right at home in the fantasy setting as she is in her native sci-fi setting, and lo; it is good.
