Oh, oh! My first upload!

First of all, Id like to thank my parents, my brother, my friends, kusins, other unknown family and my pr0n stash for pushing me forward to complete this one...

No, seriously, it took about two hours, so I'm kinda satisfied with the outcome, you've probably seen the scan so you know how I got the idea...just to continue the image kinda ^^'
Don't know who to credit for the original art though...Gainax or production I.G. I guess...or is it one of Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, who made Der Monde? I guess I'll credit him too, to be on the safe side :D

So what do you think? Is the lightning good enough or does it look flat?

    hey, i saw your thread, thought i'd stop on by. anyhow, the thing that always attracts me first to any picture is the colors. and i really like the color red here with the lame black. black is black, nothing special here, but it looks good here. i really dig the banner thing in the bottom left corner. the weirdness sprouting from is a very nice touch. however the character is too bright from the rest of the image, and there is nothing to look at, other than the weirdness and charater. just a little too empty you know. you can have simplicity and still have more than emptiness. well anyhow. good job.

    Maybe your right, I've been thinking of putting some subtle grunge in the background, or maybe continueating the web in the distance. At first I did'nt have any lighting on the character but then the picture seemed even more flat/empty. Since the character is the main attraction in the picture I highligted it to point it out more... "look here" kinda thing. It also, if you will, enbodies the "rebirth" in the quote, showing although it may seem dark right now, something bright might be just around the corner... maybe a bit too farfetched, I don't know.

    nice reds and black, I love the webs and colors, especially how Rei stands out from the BG.. almost as if she's glowing. ^_^ Very nice contrast, excellent work.. I'm glad you shared it here! :)
