The spatial dimensions of both the scan and the background seem very different, and that's kind of throwing the balance of the wallpaper off. From my point of view, you either used the Outer Glow on the scan to give it a little glow on the edges or your extraction was way off. It's hard to determine which one it is. However, the background alone is excellent. Keep up the work.

Another Bleach wallpaper featuring Kuchiki Rukia. I like it more than my other Rukia wallpaper ;) Images for the background were taken by myself. Other effects/brushes used in the wallpaper were done in Photoshop 7.

I meant to make the balance that way, showing that she really had been isolated and is working her way... but if you didn't get the message, then I guess I'll have to make itmore obvious next time ^^; I didn't use outerglow but my extraction wasn't way off either, but yes, you can still see some white areas around. Thanks for the comment, it'll help me improve.
