This is my first entry to the NewWaveProject's Movie Poster Contest.

The main character in Cidade de Deus is not a person. It is a place. Cidade de Deus is a poor housing project started in the 60's that became one of the most dangerous places in Rio de Janeiro by the beginning of the 80's.
It speaks about life there and how it got so dangerous, involving children gangs, drugs, death etc.

Well it really isn't my favorite movie, cause I really don't have one. But it is a very good movie, I recommend it.

enjoi.

wow! i love it! ^_______________________^ i haven't seen the movie, but it sounds pretty amazing, esp with this poster you've done. well, i can't give any criticism to this... every bit is so amazing! the way you've done the shading in the sun with the text and the scribblies in the figure with the gun really breaks up the solidness of the vectors, gives it a more hand-drawn feeling to it. great work! Simplest poster ive seen from the contest, and its almost like the movie "City of God" depicting hades in the carribean as the hardcore town of viloence, drugs and love but nonetheless the whole bg is perfect! Great job! :)

Wonderful! It's so bright and full of life! I've never seen the film, and don't know what it's like, but this sure gives the impression of hot blue summer skies, a place crammed ful of anonymous lots of people, but also a sense of danger with the gun so prominently displayed...

Wow. Fantastic job drell! I can see your style from a mile away, and I have to say I think it's one of your best to date. The colors are bright enough to catch your attention but not enough to clash, the composition is fantastic, and the effects look terrific! I haven't seen the movie, but it looks intriguing. Fabulous job *hugs* good luck with the competition! *rooting for ya*

P.S. You should consider making it a wall too... *poke poke*
