Well, here's my first wallpaper submission. I'm very new to making large pieces so I hope I can get some constructive critiques to help me improve. As I said before, this is my first submitted wallpaper and pretty much my second successful attempts. I would submit my first but it's size does not qualify it as a wallpaper (800x600) so I suppose that's just life. Anyways, I'll move to discussing my piece now.

Alright, so first I brushed a bit behind my render layer to give him some emphasis, then I duplicated the layer twice. On my first duplicated layer I used the smudge tool and a guassion blur to give it a cloudy look and on the second duplicated layer I set the blending mode to Dissolve and erased a bit off to give it a sparkle effect, yet not look too busy. On top of the original brushed layer I added a filter>render>cloud layer using blue and white and set it to soft light to give it some color.

I added two layers on top of the render and used a combination of the brush tool and smudge to make the lights around his body and added a blur/glow effect. I also added lens flares near each "explosion" which are on the render's hand and at the edge of his weapon, and once more, used blur/glow effect; I suppose I did it to stay consistent. I added noise and used the erase to get what I wanted, and text, and blah blah blah. I've talked too much, any questions just ask. Feel free to use this, and.....rate and such please. :)

Also, I suppose I should mention that I got the render from a render pack link provided at gamerenders.com That's as specific as I can get with my poor memory..

The light chords around the scythe is very well-done. Everything about this is impressively powerful.
