Here we have a third (and final [most likely]) entry to the Underappreciated Group's third wallpaper contest. Key the Metal Idol has less than 10 entries in it.
I vectored the Piano from another Key image (look at the source site for the
"Pinching
Cheeks" vector I did and you'll see the piano image source there) And
that took a long time and then I vectored the Pinching Cheeks image and that
took longer. But when I had them I could easily throw together the BG (made up
of a few staffs from some Ah My Goddess sheet music I found...) The BG is
supposed to represent how... you know when someone suddenly goes off-key while
playing or the music just goes wrong? Well that's what the music is supposed to
be... The idea is Key's practicing (I know she doesn't play the piano, but I
didn't want to focus a wall on the guy that WAS playing this piano) before a
performance and she's got a case of the nerves, so her friend comes along to
help her loosen up 
[edit] I've updated... cleaned up the staffs, added another layer with some transparency to add more interest over the piano..., darkened the piano a bit... yeah...

Awww. Very touching. Of course, like usual, nice vectoring work. I like the background, does give that 'music error' feel too it. For some reason tho the piano stands out too much..not because its in the front, no..just like its brighter and sharper than the rest. Otherwise, nothin else to say besides decent job

so you made a wall out of your vectors. thats something i never do.
anywho
just want to add that i notice some of the musical notes are very jittery and
the piano needs a little bit of work. its not really uniform on the top near
where the keys would be, and some of the strings just dont line up. im kind of
picky when it comes to verctoring so excuse me if i sound like im bashing. 
nice job though. =]
oh wow, your vectoring lines have gotten a whole lot better and I know pronounce you a pro! *slaps blue ribbon on Terra-chan's shoulder*
Hmm... the piano indeed still has a few rugged lines, and I think in the future it'd be a good idea to stroke all your vectors with a similar thickness
The
characters are done in pencil or a 1pixel brush, and the piano was done with
about 2... but nevertheless it's good 
With the big purple notes, perhaps a cutout filter or something should fix up the lines and make em not as pixelated

Great job on that piano and how the two girls are placed strategically in the bg. It turned out really nice. I like the bg but I would've love to see a classroom-like bg. However, it still good this way as well. Really nicely done.

The piano is very nicely done. This is a great wallpaper. The image fits in so perfectly. You did an amazing job.
