((History lesson)) A few weeks ago I got a photo of Shibuya, taken by my friend while she was there. I loved the
photo... >.< Anyways, I was browsing through the gallery section and I found this wonderful scan by Nuriko EDIT: Thanks to wanna who found the link to the scan ^_^ here.
I saw the scan and literally went "ahhh !" The photo and scan just clicked... that, my friends, was the birth
of a new wallie :)
((What I did)) I didn't do every single detail, but I wanted a really clean kinda wall. The big building was
actually a round building... (yeah, round faced O_O well, on the side anyway) and it took a lifetime trying to redo and
vector the thing -_- I wanted to get some crack brushes but I couldn't get them, so I resorted to lightning X_X But
anyway, the rest is clean... cept for the bridge thingy-- my brushing was like "attack! attack!"
By the way, the streaks in her hair were done by me ;) Her hair was originally just grey
((Comments)) None in particular. I love the wall... it's so bright (and I had my Kenshin one as a desktop for like
a month X_X) and just simple. It was a lot of hard work, but my friend really wanted to see the finished copy so I
decided to finish it so I could show it to him >.<
You probably realised I haven't submitted anything of good substance lately... with the Under-A competitions and themes *insert chuckle* my style has completely gone whack. Definitely one of the better walls (I feel) I'll upload....

well, since you said this wall need more "love" in the comments area of your "kindle my heart" wall (hehehe...i actually do read the descriptions), i decided to jump over here. i was really amazed at your photo manipulation and how well you were able to blend the scan with your photo. it really has that clean, techy, futuristic feel. but that stuff on her head is very freaky... XD

Wow~.. nice Wallpaper~~ I really like it, especially the background... your friend is a good photographer too. And the streaks on her hair looks soo good that I thought it was from the original picture. (Just saw the original picture)

i absolutely love this image. the scan is at a really nice angle and is just pleasant overall, and the background works great too. the angle. that is what i like, it is tilted. really great image, and very muted, and serene. i just wish you had vectored the bg. it would have flattened the image, bringing it together more. but still, great work.

Though one of buildings looks a bit odd, I like a lot the 'urbanised feeling' of the wallpaper. Also, that's one great scan you have managed to find!

The girl doesn't, uh, blend with the bg. The background is too sharp and the artwork you used looks, uh, less sharp. ^^' I think an anime image, or a traced one for example, would be a better idea. Though, I still love the wallpaper. The colors are very, very pretty, the extraction is good and the composition is good, too. :) And, dear lord, is that Starbucks? XD

Er... at any rate, this is some nice work. Very clean extraction, simple concept with a lot of contrasts. The rough quality of the buildings, etc., contrasting with the clean quality of the image in the front adds a lot of depth to the design, and the contrast itself contrasts with the other contrast of the the buildings' clean-cut, pure-form realism with the subject's somewhat rumpled, surrealistic form...
My complaint would have to be that it's at 1280x1024 instead of 1280x960.
I'm going to put this up on SR's gallery.

I recall the shibuya baby wall you did a while back, this does somewhat resemble part 2 I guess, the whole image is ok, I don't exactly like the whole thing too much I guess, maybe because of the more like oil paint style on the background but the character shares little in comparison of style and i dunno, maybe it just looks weird compared to the whole wall. nice background nonetheless. perhaps as a background only wall would be nicer.
