It's not bad, but you can do better. :D
You've set up the left-hand scan as your focal point by effectively cropping the right-hand scan and background with the letterboxing. This is all fine and dandy, but the background itself is weak and the blending on the right-hand scan looks tacky.
I think you might be better served by creating a simple scene that somehow complements the right-hand scan. Something like a low, rolling hill or a classroom comes to mind. Keep it simple and avoid drawing too much attention away from the primary scan on the left.
