I lied. I said my next Gankutsuou wallpaper would feature Haydee, and I now have a scan all picked out for it but after buying the Gankutsuou Complete book and falling in love with the cover I had to wall that first, because the Haydee wall will be a long, involved trace and this would not.
This is based off of the front cover of Gankutsuou Complete and features the main protagonists, Albert, Franz and Eugenie. I moved everyone so they're more directly standing behind Albert instead of staggered behind him (mostly the whole vertical->horizontal transition of book cover to wallpaper). The original background was a textured leather, and since I already had a set of textures that closely resembled it I was ready to go! The lineart in the background was scanned off the back cover of the guidebook, from the art underneath the slipcover. It's the Count's crest, and you can see a sword crossed over a heart in front of a blazing sun, the isle of Monte Cristo itself, and the sea. I altered it so that it was just the sun and clouds. I was aiming at the style of the opening sequence "We Were Lovers" with its faded browns and stuff.
I ran around with about a dozen titles for this wallpaper; originally I tried to use something from the song "We Were Lovers" but nothing fit, so I ran through an online French/English dictionary. "The Naive" describes these three well, which sprang from another failed title idea "The springtime of our youth". So I stayed with it.
This wall is designed as a set; see also "Le Genie" which features the other main character, the sexy Count himself. You could even dualscreen the wallpapers if you had such a setup; Les Ingenus on the left and Le Genie on the right.
Additional resolutions are available.
EDIT: Thanks to candy-chan for correcting my utter lack of French grammar. My own fault for not consulting someone before releasing ^^

Wow! That's so nice! The colors are great and the scan looks pretty too. Great job as always, Tama-Neko. :) +fav

Oh, lovely job. My copy came in the mail this past week, and you've probably noticed as I did that the illustration gallery images are a bit on the small side. That being said, a vector of that last Haydee picture---the one from the DVD cover on the last gallery page---you should definitely vector it :3 Well, it's what I'd most like to see anyway... <3

Anyhow, they make a nice set of walls based off the dust cover ^^

I don't have time to comment yet but you made an error: it should be "Les ingenus" and yes with an accent
love the flat style and colors XD

another awesome wall Tama. I like the texture you used for this wall, and the overall color scheme. great scan choice as well!

Nicely done! I love the overall texture you made^^ I just love walls with a "decayed" feel.... XD Keep it up^^

Its like a portrait wall all together with gruge and beauty all intact... Love those ancient lines all around them, makes it nostalgic! Great job as always Tama! XD

oooh... nice grungy wallie tama!
the textures and the colours just make it look like an old drawing on a sort of fading paper ^^

To my taste the texture could be a little different here. A great job with rearranging the characters, must have been quite time-consuming.

mm, in it's own way it's nice :)
