A quick wallpaper to get back into the swing of things, nothing really special
here. I liked the scan of
the folks from Xing because, well, I like the folks from Xing. Especially
Ling. And everyone by now knows of my penchant for walling lesser known or less
favorite characters - what better way than to wall some manga-only characters?
Since the folks from Xing are searching for immortality, I titled the wall
"A Quest for Eternity". Frankly, they sort of remind me of the
"Journey to the West" legends with the monkey king and all.
Basically it was a lot of cleanup of text, repositioning Ling so he appeared
closer to the others, an extension of the pipes in the scan to make a horizontal
layout, some light texturing using default Photoshop textures, and some text.
I know, I know. ZOMG another freakin' FMA wall. I'm tired of them too... but I
have a lot of wallpaper ideas in mind: Gankutsuou, walls for the Doujinshi
contest winners, Utena, a Bebop wall for AnimePaper's contest, Kino no Tabi...
this is just filler, really. A throwaway wall. The same old. Nothing ground
breaking here. That'll just have to wait.

Alchemists team that's been putting out scanslations of the most recent FMA
manga chapters.
EDIT: You know, I wondered if this day would come, that my reputation for vectors would lead folks to assume I vector everything... well, I don't, and there isn't a single vector, not even a tiny path, used in this wallpaper. This is pure Photoshop clone tool, and a few other tricks I have up my sleeve for image reconstruction.

This wall is teh l33t... not only because FMA manga walls are rare, but also because of the flawless vector rebuilds of the original scan...
now, stop saying that this is a throwaway wall, because it doesn't look like one

whoa. no kiddin that vector is nice. i cant see any mistakes at all! the only way i realyl cold tel lbetween the wall and scan is the text on the wall, and the characters in the back have been moved a bit

Lovely work tama, simple yet the texture goes wall in this..love the browns an greys! Its like theyre tight in a hot spot but since theres no vectors then its still a great job
I like the perspective in this one. You find yourself peering over his shoulder to see the other characters and looks right out the back ^__^ .

for side side characters! The only other thing I'll say is maybe hit the text up
with a bit of skew to fit with the pipes' perspective? But that's
inconsequential. Nice wall, for a filler.

I love your descriptions, really, always so detailed and loooong. The wallpaper excellent, I like the texture a lot - gives the wallpaper an impression of being drawn and not made using special effects...
This is really nicely done and I also really like how the wallpeper looks as if it was drawn w/o any special effects. Plus those cahrys are the best in the manga! ^-^
yay! Ling! hehe, Lanfan! and... erm.... I donno the last guy's name off the top of my head cause he hasn't been in the manga since he left with Maria Ross >< *sweat drop* anyway, I *heart* the manga, same as the anime. yay!
A Ling wall! It would've been cool if Ling were in the anime- but alas, it wasn't meant to be.
