These are some character sketches of two original characters of a manga I am planning of **one day** creating. The story is as follows so far:
Oshun is the main character of this story. Ever since he could remember, he has always wanted to be a girl. Now 12 years old, going on 13, he finds himself is in love with Upendo a beautiful and book-wormish girl also in his class. It is rumoured that Upendo is the type of girl who likes girls. Oshun is excited and devistated all at once. How could she love him in this body?
Oshun is very shy, and hates himself tremendously. Because he never has any confidence in himself (even though he is brilliant), he is constantly apologizing (gomen, gomen) for everything he does. This create trouble for him in school when people think he�s a push over simply because of his constant apologies.
The real action begins one day on a school trip at the Louve.
Oshun becomes separated from the group because he wants to stay and look at the art, while the rest of the class only wants to eat lunch and go home. After loosing the group, he sees the Venus de Milo and is stunned by her beauty. Shocked and hurt by its magnificence, he sits on the floor in front of it and begins to cry.
Cut to a while scene with pink flower pettles. �Where am I?� Oshun asks as a women emerges out of the whiteness. She is armless and totally naked except for a wrap around.
She says that he is the "chosen one" of the millennium and that he is her successor, instilled with the unreleased power of the goddess venus.
Except... there is one tiny problem.
There was a mistake in fertilization, due to his father choosing the wrong wife because of a silly mix up with the god cupid. Because of a stray arrow from Cupid's bow, Oshun's father had an affair with his current wife, and because he made her pregnant, was forced to leave his true love for Oshun's biological mother. Oshun was meant to be carried by the other women. Because of this mix up, he was born a boy.
Venus is willing to attempt to rectify this mistake, and promises to make Oshun a woman.
IF...
he can refrain from saying �gomen� until his 13th birthday.
Venus reaches out her stubs to him and asks �well, are you in?� he walks slowly towards her and as he moves into embrace her, Venus' arms appear.
Cut to transformation, where clothes are stripped, and outline of male body is seen in colors, you see his eyes close, and a metal band appears on his wrist, then a key around his neck.
He asks after, "what is all this..." (looking at the metal band and key). She explains that if he lasts until his 13th birthday without saying "gomen" - only then will his body obey his heart, and he will be able to unlock the band himself.
She kisses him on the forhead, and he finds himself back in the louve after having passed out on the floor. All his class mates are around him laughing.
And so begins the story.
