Bleh, no more smudge tool for me 
.
After the experiment done in my last wall, I sought to use the techniques on
something else. After a bit of advice from ShiNN84 with the smudging tool from
my last wall, I decided to go on a spree . Lots
of brushing, smudging, shading, re-CGing, and you name it was done.
The theme is set around various trees overlooking the sea. The trees are most
likely on a hill or a cliff, whatever you preference. Yes, it is possible for
pine trees to be by the ocean, it just depends on where you live (I live in
Washington state and there are pines everywhere ), so no comments about that.
It's my random pine, so there .
The girl is enjoying her lovely little meal of fruits in a tree and relaxfully watching the waves crash against the beach. Why she would want to climb in a tree with a glass dish is beyond me, but she is up there non the less. Light is also gently trickling in on the character, as well as little particles and leaves that gently sweep through the background to enhance all the little details that matter.
I kept text to a minimum and only put my signature at the bottom, with my small little "logo" next to it. I felt text would detract from the wall, and many commented last time how text can negatively affected the overall look of the wall.
Had to extend bits of the character and original image a bit, but I feel it all
blended smoothly together. The ocean still bothers me ... or at least the waves
do. I'm happy with the trees for the most part, but I feel I added to much light
in certain parts. There is a bunch of other stuff I could pick away at, but I'll
leave the perfectionist side of myself out of this
.
Overall, I'm very happy with this wall, but I think I'm definately doing an
abstract next or at least something that requires less smudging. I don't like
smudging .

looking into ... good colors and great use of burst effects. The techy feel and
lighting is something that really makes this wall stand out and definately does
justice to the scan.

wow @__@ seems like a lot of smudging! I'll never use that much of smudge tool
lags my computer xD
Anyways i think it looks good.. although the smudges actually did make the whole thing too blurry..
at the top right, the leaves dont look like its part of the branches since the branches are kinda sharp at the edges.. doesnt blend with the tree leaves ^^
well the sky is great ^___^ the ocean seems okay.

Smudging ain't an easy job, especially if you a mouse
(I
have a tablet so I have an "advantage" when it comes to use the smudge
tool). You did a good job though. Maybe overall the wallpaper is a tad bit
blurry (meaning you totally went on a frenzy with smudge tool) and I also see
some pixelated areas which suggest that you still used smart blur somehow =/.
I'd rather avoid using smart blur at all unless you have to clean a very
noisy/grainy scan. Anyway, it looks good. Your wallpapers are surely improving
i really luv the overall peacefulness of your wall...and the background is so pretty! you also have a great concept with you chara relaxing on a tree...and i really like the soft colors you used...

Amazing wallpaper! The clouds look very real. You did an excellent job on the beach as well. The trees are very nicely done too, only I think that maybe you could lessen the smart blur (is it smart blur filter?) on the wallpaper. It's because the background of the sky look very defined while the elements in front don't. Other than that, I think this is a very good wall. The lighting is remarkable.
*giggles* The ocean doesn't bother me (in fact, i think it's very nicely done~<3) - but the perspective does.
Because
the leaves are closer to the 'camera', they should be more in focus than the
waves (same could be said for some of the tiny clouds up there). *snatches the
blur tool from you* <lol> Still.. you've made a very gentle, relaxing look
with it.. *gives the creature reluctantly back... 
on a
leash* I love how you blurred over the outline of her right glove (hn.. well, I
assmue you did 
). Nice touch, Tanta-san.

really like the atmosphere of this wall. nice and sunny ^^ clouds
are very nice too. the ocean though, seems to end abruptly at the cloud and
maybe it should be more gradual extention towards the horizon. awesome job with
the trees too. scan choice is nice. even with the strange extreme colored food

i think the tree seems oddly out of focus (maybe too blurred? but it looks good anyway ^^)

It's
rather obvious that you are trying to hide something or that it is a stockphoto.
If not, then it would have looked that way. However, i love the composition and
everything else.+fav
However, you may still improve those leaves.. especially the blurred parts.
